Question about Philips Senseo HD-7810 Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Top pops open and water spits out all over

About every 4th or 5th time I use it, the top pops open and water starts spewing out all over. I've tried holding the top down while brewing but this hasn't solved the problem. I've cleaned the machine out from top to bottom, to no avail. Is this a defective machine?

I had the same problem with my 7810 Senseo. It was about 1 year old. The latch had become worn and couldn't hold the pressure. The latch is plastic (both the hooks and the recesses that they slide into to hold the lid shut) and the hooks and recesses edges were rounded off and would pop open under the pressure. If I held the lid shut with my palm, then it was fine. I called Senseo and since it was still within the 2 year warranty, they replaced it with a new one. I have now used the replacement for over a year (5 or 6 cups a day!!!) with no more problems. Senseo customer service was very good. they sent me a prepaid shipping label so I could return the defective unit; they then sent me a new one. Once your machine starts doing this, it will only get worse. Call Senseo to have it replaced.

Mini keurig stops brewing and blows tops off k-cups

It may be time to descale. Most models will give you a message when it's time to have the mineral deposits cleaned.
HERES HOW TO DO THAT...
Empty water resevoir. Disable auto off. Pour approx 48 oz of undiluted white vinegar into resevoir. PLace large mug on drip plate, run brew cycle, dump contents of mug in sink. DO NOT USE A K-CUP.
Repeat this process until the add water light is indicated.
Let brewer stand for at least 4 hours while still on.
Discard any residual vinegar in the resevoir and rinse thorughly.
AFTER approx 4 hours...fill resevoir with water.
RINSE:
PLace a large mug on the drip plate and water brew cycle. Pour the contents of the mug into the sink.
REPEAT this brew process until the add water light is indicated.
YOU MAY NEED TO REPEAT THIS "RINSE" PROCESS if you notice any residual taste.

I had the same problem I bought a 1/2" rubber washer and duct taped it to the top of the reusable unit and it has been working great for about a month, the indent in the reusable filter is too far away from the brew section of the machine

Why would water spew out while using My kcup in the keurig?

The top gasket is not sealing on the endention of the my k cup. Open the handle look inside around the top needle and there will be a black gasket around it. Pull it down just a little so that it makes better contact with the My K Cup.

That slot is no accident; don't attempt to plug it. If it is where you describe it being, it would stop hot water from spitting out elsewhere in case the nozzle is blocked.

If it is where they are normally found, at the back of the water reservoir, it was provided to prevent water from finding its way into the lower section and possibly creating a path for dangerous voltages present and not well protected in the base of the unit.
Even if there is no possible way for water to migrate down to the bottom, it could then run out through the front of the unit, making even a bigger mess.
Most coffee-makers have this overflow opening in the back.

Fill Water tank - Ventilate

Hi Mike,

Make sure the magnet flow up, if it flow up and you still get fill water tank then you have to replace the magnet.

If you get ventilate all time, try to remove the filter and try again.
