I have the same problem. When the door is opened for too long, it beeps. We have to press the button under the flashing red light to stop it. But sometimes for no reason the beeping happens and we have to get up out of bed to go press the button to make the noise stop. What is it trying to alert us to?

I have the same problem with my "whirlpool", which I thought was to do with defrosting or not freezing , but nothing seems to happen except flashing lights etc. This doesn't happen every time the door is opened.
A suggested solution was to look at the sensor, but what do you do then, as there are no controls on the sensor

Accidentally left the freezer door open, and ice crystals formed.

You can defrost by turning off the power and leaving the door open, but if it is a frost free model it should gradually rid itself of ice at normal temp settings. This may take several days.

Water leaks inside

It's due to wrong temp setting and malfunction of defrost cycling. Keep thermostat setting at 5 degree or little less. And don't keep it in minus,as defrost cycle will take longer time. And also you will get less cooling in fridge compartment and also water leaks.Check drain line hose may freezed. And also freezer tray get blocked due to over frosting around freezer. Defrost manually by unplug your fridge and after defrost all ices, plug again and keep correct temp setting. Thanks.

hi The limit switch is found only on frost-free refrigerators and freezers. Its function is to keep the defrost heating element from exceeding certain set temperatures. If a refrigerator has lots of frost in the freezer compartment, the problem may be the limit switch. However, other components -- the evaporator fan, the defrost timer, and the defrost heater -- can cause the same problem. Check these for malfunctions, as detailed below. If these parts are in working condition, the problem is most likely in the limit switch. Don't try to fix the limit switch yourself; call a professional service person for replacement.

Motor runs, some ice at top level, but temp is at 50-60 degrees.

Defrost the freezer. Door being ajar allows moisture to build on the freezer coil and stops air circulation. In frost free units this condition should clear itself after about 8-12 hours max. Locating and advancing the timer by rotating the clutch head screw clockwise slowly until you hear one click. This will start the automatic defrost manually.
