I already have this schematic. It has a lot of info but the schematics are very vage, not enough voltages and where originated. I do like the self-diagnostic function. My problem is in the start circuit, six flashes. Appears that my unit is in the protective shut-down mode. I understand that this problem seems to be common with these wega tv's. Thanks.

I have noticed that a common problem exists with Wega tv's. Sometimes they will not start up and they give a six flash self-diagnostic reply. I have done some checking and I believe the problem is in the D board as some of you have reported. My unit appears to be in the protective shut down mode. After reading all of the problems there seems to be some problem with capacators in the D board. Cand you tell what caps were involved in this fix. Thanks.

You did not answer my last question. I cannot find it.

  • ralctl Oct 07, 2008

Thank you, looking forward to more info.

  • ralctl Oct 23, 2008

Dan(abrsvcs) sent me a message about bad caps and possible faulty jungle ic. That message is no longer in my profile. He said he would get back to me with more specifics. What happened?

Hi,

Can you pls confirm the chassis number; AX1, RA6, DA4 or DA4X ? Additionally, any chattering relay?
Am basing on part of your post "...Sometimes they will not start up...6 blinks..."

Hope that this be of initial idea. Pls post back on the chassis # and/or the relay or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Well if you want the schematic diagram and step by step trouble shooting procedures .. I would recommend going to the following link and getting the service manual so you can see first hand disassembly instructions and testing procedures. Its only 10.99 and they email it to you shortly after purchase. The manual is a valuable resource as it will have part numbers in case you do need a new KD board. heres the link.

To locate the bad cap(s) just inspect them for leakage and feel the tops... the bad ones will be rounded on the top

The 6 blinks usually mean no h-stop and no raster. I'll look up the specific parts designations, but normally this is caused by a couple of bad caps or a bad jungle IC. More specifics to follow.

Help me to resolve the problem

The problem of resistor of keep blowing caused by surge voltage, look for capacitor associated that resistor. The capacitor hold the voltage and distribute the exact volatage to that resistor if that capacitor is shorted or leaky, that is the caused of abnormal distribution. Also check the diode there and transistor. What is the number of IC driver you replaced, and do you have already schematic diagram? If not,i help you to give a links where you can avail.

Hope it may help you;

If you have experience soldering, this is a piece of cake. IF resoldering did not resolve the problem for very long, the problem in inside of the IC and the IC needs to be replaced.

I'm guesing a bit here, because I don't have the original question in front of me. I'm not entirely sure of the context of the initial problem. Can you add a comment to the original question if this does not seem right. Doing that will popup the original into my work queue.

Thanks,
Dan

you may have cracked the circuit board when moving , sounds like a bad vertical circuit. look for bad connections around vertical ic or flyback transformer
