Question about Video Game Consoles

1 Answer

I've got a PS3 and it runs by wifi to a Linksys router. I have no problems connecting to PSN, playing games online or downloading stuff from the PSN store. The problem is whenever I start a game that needs a update downloading and I choose to download it it'll start downloading it then freeze at about 6% then an error message will come up after a while of it being stuck at 6%. However after a few trys before it starts to download the update but after it's left the game it has a please wait screen that lasts longer than usual then it downloads perfectly. Does anyone know how to make it download properly? Please don't tell me to use a ethernet cable because I've tried that. Also refrain from using router jargon. Thanks

When I try to Update games on PSN I get error 80710092, I can connect to PSN and I can even play games that don't need to be updated online. But for some reason I just can't get games to update.

I don't know if this pertains to you, but when I connected my PS3 to a Netgear router/wireless I had all sorts of connection and DNS errors. I switched to a D-Link 655 and have no more issues.

Lately from yesterday when i sign in it shows me message an error has accured u have been signed out of psn (80710092) why?? and i should do? thx

This means you've been signed out of the playstation network. A problem with your broadband, not your PS3. Check the connection of the ethernet cable from your router to the ps3. Then switch off at the mains both your ps3 and your router. Leave for 30 seconds then turn both back on. Wait till the blue lights on your router are all steady blue not flashing red or orange. Then turn on your PS3, go to network settings, then internet connection test. This will check your internet connection, and whether or not you're signed in to PSN, and also your internet download/upload speed.
Hope this helps.

Make sure you've got the latest firmware on the router installed.

Make sure you're running ps3 firmware 3.21

If both of those don't work, try another router brand. I prefer Belkin or Netgear for PS3 stuff.

When playing ps3 game live i get kicked off the games what is going on

Are you running the live game play through the internal WiFi card or a wired Ethernet cable? If you can try hooking up an Ethernet cable and it solves the problem, you are getting interference from something and you'll have to move the PS3 closer to your router or just try to keep it on the Ethernet cable for online play. That's what I use because it is much more reliable and much faster than WiFi.

If you are running with an Ethernet cable and you are still having problems, the problem may not be with your PS3 but with your router or internet connection. Try moving the cable to another outlet on the router. Check your network settings on the PS3 amd try to set up the network to automatically detect settings.

Depending on the game, you may be kicked off by other users in the game. I've had that happen a couple times because everyone's a critic.

I hope this helps. Good luck and have fun online! Don't forget to rate! Thank you!
