You need a wireless dongle or pci adapter or a notebook with built in wireless technilogy and then install the software you get with it and it will automatically search for wireless connections, then just follow the instructions to connect to the net

Yes your computer based on your model number should be able to support a wireless router.
Now... you did not specify if this is or is not a second computer that is trying to access the router which is hooked up to another computer and modem. If you are trying to access it you will need a wireless nic adapter installed on the Dell. To access the router. Please comment on what the case may be in your situation.
