The wireless light should flicker indicating it is sending a wireless signal out to a reciever.

If you have security for the wireless router so nobody else can connect without permission enable it or turn off the wireless signal if not using it.

I have a smartrg wireless router I disconnected from all cables, relocated and hook it back up and now I have my power lite whan light my dsl and Internet light are not on and I can't connet Internet

Ensure that you have the cable from your DSL modem connected to the DSL (WAN) connector port on the rear of the modem. Also ensure that your dsl modem is connected to the phone line. If your modem is a model SR-350NE and it does not have a port labeled WAN on the rear, you must connect the dsl modem to the LAN1 port.

Here is a link that may help you.

2wire2701hg-b lights: power-on, ethernet-off, wireless-blink steady, dsl-on, internet-on, dsl line ok

If ethernet light is the only one that's not on, that means there is no device that is connected hardwired to the router.

I have an at&t 2wire 2701hg-b but i dont have at&t internet i have charter and i am not able to figure out how to get my internet to work with this router please help

att 2 wire is a Adsl Modem (Requires a telephone line jack to get the signals) but charter communication is a cable internet service (not DSL) , Requires a TV cable service for internet .
These two jacks differs and there working differs ..
Means : Att works with the username and password type of authentication but charter requires the MAC address of modem for authentication .
Therefore for a cable internet 2wire 2701hg-b modem cant be used . But yes in case charters has username and password authentication and works with the telephone jack in house then its possible to use the same modem.

Ehternet light is out (amber), Power, wireless, DSL and internet light on (green). Desktop is wired to the 2wire. Wireless is working.

H there,

Try replacing the ethernet cable, If it does not work try reinstalling the drivers of your NIC card or LAN card. If it still does not work your NIC or LA card is busted.

My modems LAN light is blinking and I can't get Internet, I've tried unplugging it, but the problem still exists, please help

There will be 4 lights...

Power
Dsl
Internet
Ethernet

Power light indicates power supply is good...
Ethernet light indicates connection between modem and computer is good...
DSL light indicates connection between modem and telphone line is good... Also DSL light should be steady and it should not flash...
If it flashes then it says there is a lot of noise in telephone line...
Internet light says whether the internet status is connected or not...Internet light can flash depending upon the internet activity...

Followed all the set up steps but my DSL light would not stay on

  • 1 Plug the Ethernet cable into the Internet port on your wall. If you do not have Internet ports installed in your home, connect a phone line adapter to a phone line jack. The adapter makes the phone line wider so Ethernet cables can connect to it. This does not block your phone from use.
  • 2 Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Internet port on the back side of the Netgear DSL modem.
  • 3 Connect the Netgear DSL modem to a local power source. The power plug inserts into the modem via a small port on the rear of the modem.
  • 4 Insert a second Ethernet cable into one of the numbered ports on the back of the modem. Run the cable to your computer and plug it into the Ethernet port on the computer.
  • 5 Look on the back end of the DSL modem for an HTTP: address. Type this into your Internet browser's search bar. The Netgear DSL modem menu appears on the screen.
  • 6 Select how many computers are to use the modem, if you are using it with other DSL modems and set up a password (the default username and password is "admin"). Click "OK" to initiate the changes you made to the menu. You can now use your Netgear DSL modem to connect to the Internet.

How many lights should be on my westell model327w?

    b2f0922.jpg
The Westell has several lights on the front that have various meanings

Power = When lit, this light indicates there's power to the router. It should be solid green.

Ethernet = When lit, this light indicates that the modem is communicating with your computer. This will be on only if you're using the Ethernet cable to connect the modem to your computer

Wireless = When lit, this light indicates that the wireless function of the Actiontec is working. This will only be lit if you're using the wireless function.

DSL = When lit, this light indicates the modem is speaking to the central office (phone company). When working, the light should be solid green.

Internet = When blinking, this light indicates that you're receiving information i.e., you're able to browse from site to site. This light will be blinking as you're receiving information.

We have a 2701HG-B Gateway. The power light is red, the wireless light is green. The ethernet, DSL, and internet lights are off. How do I reset this? I tried the power down for 2 minutes thing already....

Your unit might not be bad. It could be that the configurations for the internet on it are incorrect. You will need to log onto the router, and check some information that you can obtain from the ISP. If it still doesn't work after checking, and correcting (if necessary) the configurations, then you made need to replace the router. One other thing it could possibly be is the ethernet cable that connects the modem, and the router, that is bad. If thats the case, them you could end up saving a lot of money by not having to get a new router. Just something else you night want to check into.

that is typically a bad username in the modem, you will have to put there temp user name in for registration for the DSL. and after that you can put the username into the modem that you created during the registration process. Should be taken care of.

    DGL-4300 resets every few seconds

    Try the following:
    1. Hook up your router like you want it to be
    2. After the WAN/Wireless lights turn off we want to HARDRESET your router.
    3. There will be a small hole that requires a pen or paper clip to press...Hold this down for about 15 seconds, or untill the power light flashes on your router.

This might take care of it.

    let me know.
