Re: e570 with GPS and Navi

Hi, I purchased a CF GPS card via ebay and TOM TOM software from a high street retailer and installed it. I now have a fine running e570 GPS and navigation system. Of course the maps needs to go onto a SD memory chip because of it's size. The GPS device was from DConnex.

Personally I have not GPS on my PDA but there is no reason that it should not work properly. The only thing is that you should pay attention on several things. Check by software producer if the software is compatible to your PDA. Please also be careful which ports use GPS hardware because your PDA has no USB port just serial port. With another words check all this important things before you buy anything.

Media Player issue

Weird! I would try an alternative Windows CE MP3 player such as Xaudio or PalmPlayer to see if they do the same thing. I have trouble believing it's hardware related because AFAIK the MP3 decoding is all done in software, but I guess it's possible.

PocketPC e570, Is there an opportunity to set it back to factory default?

you could set back the e570 factory default very easily. On the left side of the pda you could find a small button, called RESET button. You have to do these following steps: The pda have to be turned off, then press the power button while pressing and holding the reset switch with the stylus, release the power button and when a screen appears, release the reset switch. But be careful, when you reset your pda all data will be lost and make sure that all storage cards are removed!!!

In my opinion there is some problem with battery. The best way to be sure about it, is to contact Service partner. They can check is there some hardware or just battery problem.

Remote Control Earphones

When using either Windows Media Player or Windows Media Player 8 on your Pocket PC e570 you will need to program Media Player to recognise the button functionality of the Remote Control Earphones by following these steps: Select Tools, Buttons. Select each individual function and press the relating button on the remote control. After all buttons have been programmed, press OK which should take you back into Media Player. N.B. The remote control buttons will not function when playing back voice recordings as the earphones can only be used for listening in this mode.
