The cable should be plugged into the speaker out plug of your computer not mic out, if you want to use your speakers and your AZ8345 together you can by a splitter @ radioshack or any electronics store to do that with.

Hi brian degroa...
Try this solution to your problem
Download and reinstall your audio drivers...sometimes they may make changes to the way the system operates and it is best to keep the drivers up to date if possible.
Go to the following website and download your FREE drivers.
Just enter your computer infomation into the boxes.
Please take time to rate me thumps up.

To connect a music player or other audio device to your laptop
If your laptop has a line-in jack, follow the instructions above for connecting a music player to a desktop computer. To do so, follow these steps:

Click to open Sound.

Click the Recording tab, click Microphone, and then click Properties.

Click the Listen tab, click the Listen to this device check box, and then click Apply.

Click the Levels tab and make sure the Mute button looks like this . If the button looks like this , click it to turn on sound for this connection, and then click Apply.

Play some music or other sounds on your device to test the volume coming through your computer speakers. Select the slider under Microphone, drag it right or left to increase or decrease the volume of your audio device, and then click OK. You might also want to adjust the volume on your device.

Note
If you hear noise coming out of your speakers, try reducing the volume on both the music player and in the Levels tab. The microphone jack is designed to receive sound from a microphone, which is different than sound coming from a music player

How do i download music to my computer

Hi,

If you're looking to download music,

http://www.limewire.com/ will get you where you gotta go.

Download the program, run it, and search for whatever you want. Be wary of files with strange names for they can be dangerous.

Good Luck :)

Acer aspire desk top t180 has no sound

Sounds like he forgot to plug back in the sound cable when he took his iPod out. Simple fix for this. Pull out the desktop box (computer) and find what should be a green sound cable and plug it into a green port in the back of your computer. If your having trouble as to what it looks like, get your son to identify what he took out of your desktop to listen to his iPod and plug it back in. Also check that your speakers are turned on and are up on the speakers and on your desktop, which you can find in the bottom right hand corner near your desktop clock. The icon looks like a speaker and just click on it once and make sure its up all the way and not muted. Let me know if this works or not

Hope This Helps
