Sounds like the possibility of the power supply has failed. have you tried or do you have access to another power supply to see if the computer will turn on with another power supply?

My samsung tablet has quit responding. Tried turning it off for 20 seconds with the center button, but it still won't respond.

Check to see if the Power Supply is operative. Check the plug end to the computer and make certain it is tight when connected. Check the line cord transformer (small rectangular box) in line, and see if it is warm to the touch. Check the power to the line cord attached to the computer. If the line cord is cold and fails to energize the computer, it may have died.
If the line cord has power to the computer, then the CPU died. No CPU, the computer will not boot up.

Wont power on

Do you see any sign of power like lights (blinking or not) in the computer?

If there no lights in the computer then do the following.

1. Check the power cord for any signs of damages. Does it still lit?
2. Remove the battery and use the power cord only to turn on your computer. If it turns on, then replace the battery. If it doesn't then replace the power cord.

However, you can also try using a different power cord which is compatible with your computer to make sure that your computer still turns on by using a known good power cord. If it doesn't turn on then get it serviced.

Laptop wont turn on

Very often this is a situation where the battery is dead and the power cord is not working. First off, check to make sure that the power cord is plugged securely in the laptop and securely in the power outlet. Is there a light glowing anywhere on the laptop? If not, you have no power going through the power cord. Check to make sure the power outlet is live. If you plug in a lamp or other device and get power, you have a bad power cord. I always keep a spare power supply cord for my portable computers. You can get them on eBay for $10 or so. When you know that your laptop is getting power through its power cord, but there is no power light glowing on your laptop, it is time to visit a computer repair shop. If the power light is glowing, but the computer will not come on, please describe what steps you are taking and what, if anything, the computer is doing.

My HP Pavilion M90 monitor won't turn on. Every time I press the on button I hear a clicking sound from the back of the monitor. It sounds like it's trying to power up but it doesn't do anything. Is there...

Do a hard reset on the laptop by removing all cords and connections from the computer, including the power cord. Turn the computer over and slide the tab next to the battery, then lift the battery out of its compartment.

Eject any SD cards currently inserted in the SD card slot by pressing on them, then remove them from the slot completely. Hold the computer's "Power" button down for at least 15 seconds, then plug the power cord into the computer and turn it on.

Watch to see if the LED lights near the "Caps Lock" and "Num Lock" illuminate. If the lights do not turn on and the computer's screen remains blank, inspect the power cord and AC adapter for damage and replace them if necessary.

Leave the power cord plugged into the computer and snap the battery back into its slot. Allow the computer to sit for at least 30 minutes, then unplug the power cord and press the "Power" button again to see if the computer will turn on.

Plug the power cord back into the computer and try to turn it on again. If the computer turns on, replace the battery with a new one. If the computer still does not turn on, take the computer to a repair shop.

I tried turning on my monitor and it wouldn't turn on. I checked the power cord and everything was connected correctly. Any Idea;s?

The first step is to make sure the plug you have the power cord plugged into is supplying power to the monitor. [surge protector? Check the switch or the reset button]. Check for the powered on light, usually in the power on button on many computer monitors. Yellow usually means a bad connection with the computer. So the monitor is actually on, it just appears off because you have a black screen. Check the video cable linkage to the back of the monitor and the computer's graphics card or digital video out.

If when you "power on" the monitor's on light does not light it means that power is not getting to the unit and you could have a bad power cord. If it is of the universal type that unplugs from the unit you can swap out for a new cord to test this [some monitors have external power supplies as part of the cord and this could be the problem]. If swapping it for another works than that was your problem.

Many monitors though have their power cords mounted via chassis clamps to the unit and have internal power supplies and are not end user serviceable.

If power is making it to the unit there are a handful of possibilities. Unfortunately the majority of them, at that point, involve dis-assembly of the unit's outer casing and is not advisable to an untrained end user. A service call would be required at that point.

Won't turn on even with power cord plugged in

By dumping the power while running you have trashed your Operating System or blown up the Ram

Insert your OS disk and see if it comes to life , if it does then you may have to try a repair from the OS installation CD

If you have popped the Ram then the only solution is to get it checked out on another PC

My ee pc is not turning on

Did you check to make sure a light came on, on the power cord! If not your power cord is shot! Most power cords have lights! Also, take it to get checked out, you might have blown a fuse inside the computer!
