The heater in my 1993 mercedes 190e won't shut off, its hot all the time and I want to know if its the climate control module?

  • Anonymous Aug 29, 2008

I think iits the module cause the heater is stuck in the defrost mode and no matter which button I PRESS it blasts hot air out the defrost. How do you self test the control module?

Also, of course there is no AC either. We are driving across the Mojave Desert tonight without AC, I bought a piece of heater hose to bypass the heater core for this trip!

It is either the climate control module or the AC Heater temperature. control door motor. The module has self test capabilities, have a self test run on it before you start replacing parts.

Why does my mercedes benz 190e 2.6 1993..blow hot air when heater is not on?

This could be a couple different things. You would need to remove dash to inspect and test these however. First, your vehicle has a blend door which is what mixes hot and cool air together to adjust it to your climate control settings. Your vehicle also have vents which open/close to divert airflow to different locations. If your vehicle also has a setting for fresh/recirculated air 1 or more of these things may not be working properly. It sounds as if your getting warm air radiating inside your passenger compartment because your vents are not closed when your ac/heat is off

Mercedes 190E heater blowing just luke warm air

there should be an electric water pump exclusively for the heater. on these 201 body cars it should be under the hood, on the passenger side, near the fender well. when the heater is engadged, this pymp should turn on pushing the hot water into the heater core. if these are not working, it will obstruct the water flow.

Where is the heater blower motor located on a 1991 mercedes benz 190e 2.3

It's in in the space behind the radio but you can only get to it by taking the entire dash apaet a big PIA job not for the faint of heart and should not be attempted without the shop manual. (don't ask how i know that!!)
