Question about Zebra TLP 2844-Z Thermal Label Printer

1 Answer

Printer settings I have these printers networked. However, the print setting I require is portrait. You set this in printer settings. However, this then reverts to landscape once I come to use it. Any ideas?

Are you just printing through Windows? Or does the change happen in a specific program?

HI i have this printer! I use it for my store

Go to the ZEBRA website and register (free) download ZebraDesigner this too is free (note do not download PRO it is just a trial) this will give you a another printer added to your control panel etc. There are way more options and you can still use both or set it as default.

Or ;) I would double check that your are saving the setting in the printer through the control panel first not when you go to print then you decide to change the layout. This just confuse the ZEBRA for some reason.

OR the last thing just uninstall it reinstall/ add new printer etc.

(cool plz leave your rating)

most printers do not have an automatic preference but a requirement to set it prior to printing
at the print stage go to properties , select the landscape or portrait button and apply

Click File, Print, Then open the printer properties and make sure it is set to portrait. Also if you are working in MS office make sure to check the orientation tab. The document orientation tab overides the printer settings

Print result sideways

It sounds like your printer is set to print landscape, instead of portrait mode. Next time you want to print, click on file(top left of screen), then print (don't just click on the little printer icon). This will open a new printer window where you can choose different setting. The option to change from landscape to portrait will be listed somewhere in that window. Once you have selected that feature and print it will stay that way unless you change it. You will have to check this setting in each computer program you use.

1. The printer is printing everything in landscape. I have checked the settings and it is set to portrait printing. I tried changing it to landscape and then back and it still printed in landscape. ...

1. You could try to reinstall the Z2420 driver on your computer. 2. Try to reset the wireless network adapter of your printer. Follow the instructions in this article from the Lexmark website on How to Reset the Internal Network Adapter on Lexmark Z2400 Series Printers. Open Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility to reconfigure your printer to connect to your wireless network.
Thanks.

Can't get it to print landscape in microsoft word

If the printer is set up to over-ride program settings then your Word settings for a landscape print will be ignored. To fix this, go to your Printer Settings (accessible from Word's Print window) and look for a paper settings option that will allow the printer to either use the print settings from Word, or set the printer to always print in landscape. If you go with the second option just remember that next time you want to print portrait pages you'll have to revert this setting from landscape to portrait.

When printing postcard...it comes out portrait instead of landscape

You might want to check the printer properties. You are probably relying on PrintMaster and are believing what it is saying. If it is saying it will print in landscape, then make sure that is what the printer is set up to do. Try it both ways on the printer settings, just in case one is canceling the other.

How can I set the printer to landscape?

Goto the Control Panel double click on the Printer and Faxes then select the Printer and check the properties by right click. You will find Orintation and there are two buttons Portrait and Landscape. Normally defult setting is Portrait. Select the required option and press Apply. You did not write the OS. This method will work in Window only. (ehteshamhusain@gmail.com)

I have set my preferences to landscape but the printer keeps printing portrait... what should i do?

this is often because what you are printing in overrides the settings and prints in the default portrait. Before you print go into the print settings of what ever program you are using and set that portrait. This should resolve the issue.
