Programmable Thermostat Model 43157

I installed a Model 43157 programmable thermostat.
It seems that my a/c runs long and then doesn't come back on for awhile. It feels like it gets so warm and then it comes on, runs long and gets real cool, then it doesn't come on again for awhile until it feels warm

this is the exact same problem we are having..I thought that it was supposed to keep it at the set temperature but it seems that it cools for a long time gets freezing then it turns off waits until it's steaming hot and we are sweating and then turns back on and starts freezing the house again!!

We've tried changing the temperatures and programming it but perhaps we just aren't doing it right...anyone have any solutions? Please help...we have a newborn and the temperature changes are giving her a stuffy nose!

On my Hunter model, there is a "Span" setting that allows you to change how long the AC/Heat will run before it turns off. Basically, it sets the acceptable range (above and below) your temperature setting. To access this press both the up and down arrows and hold them. "Span" should show up with a number (1,2, or 3). For your problem, change the setting to 1 so the AC will run shorter, and more frequently to keep the temperature more constant.

My Honeywell programmable thermostat's display is blank and I do not have any heat?

The thermostat, depending on the model, normally does not get powered by batteries, they are for backup power. You might be losing 24 volt from the furnace, causing the thermostat to run on batteries.

I just purchased a house with brand new furnace wired to a RTH2300 Honeywell thermostat. It only has two wires running to it. I can't seem to get it to work in "manual mode"-where I set it on...

?? Connect Wires 5.

Labels don't match?

If a wire does not match any terminal on the thermostat,

see next page.

Quick Installation Guide

6

Alternate Wiring

If a labeled wire does not match any terminal

designation, see diagram below.

Do not use C, C1 or X wire. Do not use B wire if you already

have O wire. Wrap bare end of wire with electrical tape.

This thermostat cannot be used if your old thermostat had

any two of the following wires: R, RC, RH, 4 and V.

Place a jumper (piece of wire) between Y and W if you have

a heat pump without auxiliary/back-up heat.

?? Connect Wires (cont'd)

7

Set jumper JP1, on the back of the thermostat, if you

have connected a wire to the G terminal.

Incorrect jumper setting: An incorrect setting is

noticeable in a gas or oil heating system. When heating

starts, you will initially feel cold air coming out of the vents

as the fan is running before the furnace has enough time

to heat up the air.

?? Set Heating Fan Control 6.

HG Leave the jumper in this factory-set

position if you have a gas or oil furnace.

HE Place the jumper to this position if you

have an electric furnace.

Set jumper JP2, on the back of the thermostat, if you

have a heat pump.

Incorrect jumper setting: The heat pump operation

will be reversed, i.e., it will cool in Heat mode and will

heat in Cool mode.

?? Set Heat Pump Reversing Valve 7.

O Leave the jumper in this factory-set

position if you have connected O wire to

the O/B terminal.

B Place the jumper to this position if you

have connected B wire to the O/B terminal.

2) Align the two

Only fan turning on ? model th8320

If you have not changed the configuration of hte thermostat, it will still try to operate as a programmable model. You can configure this thermostat as a non programmable type. If you have the manual for this thermostat, the process is located on page 22, if not, you can get a copy of it on my company website:
http://www.emshvac.com/Manuals/
The file is TH8320.pdf just either click and it will open or right click and select save target.
