Question about Computers & Internet
When I click on the icon from my desktop internet explorer I can't connect with the internet. It keeps telling me that the web page cannot be found. They told me to that they woukld send me the cd to download to connect with the internet. I've had this problem since I signed up with the dsl high speed. I've never had this problem with dial up they sdent me the cd to download and I connected to the internet without a problem. I've been calling text support and still the problem is not fixed. Everytime I have to connect to the internet I have to put in numbers to connect with the internet.
Go to start menu , open up your control panel, then select internet options. It should bring up a window that says GENERAL at the top left. Inside the window type the website you would like as your homepage.eg. www.yahoo.com. That means when you log on to internet it will open to that page. Then at top select tab that says CONNECTIONS. In the window below you should see your previous dial up service provider listed. Highlight each if more than one then to the left select REMOVE, it will ask if you want to remove select yes. Continue with this process until window is completely empty. Then go below on same page select tab that says LAN settings. Click on this tab then you should see two options at top. Check the one that says AUTOMATICALLY detect settings, Then hit ok at bottom. Close out the window. then attempt the log on by just clicking on Internet Explorer. It should bring up your homepage.
