Question about Yamaha RX-V863 Receiver
Check the Setup menu. Goto Video setup and make sure "conversion" is on. Another way to test is to hook up DVD, Cable Box etc. using only the standard "composite" video output (yellow). It should pass thru monitor out regardless of the internal setting on the receiver. Most electronics now are hooked up with Component, HDMI, or DVI which would require the receiver to downconvert the signal in order for you to view it on another video source. Hope this helps.
