Hi,

I had a similar issue recently with an Epson printer. I solved it by unplugging all cables and removing the outer casing (there were several screws, easily removed with a philips head screwdriver). You can then get at the waste ink sponges. Caution - wear gloves! dealing with printer ink is messy! Carefully remove the sponges and wash them out. Allow to dry fully before putting back into the printer.

Hope this helps!

Tom

The waste ink absorber is full

To reset your Canon IP1000 just simply pull out power cord then press-hold power button, while holding power button insert back power cord. You will notice that the power button indicator lights up upon inserting power cord. then you may release power button and start printer. That will solve your "The waste ink absorber is full" message.

Downside is: you may have to do this frequently if your printer looses power. You will understand what i mean.

Printer says ''waste Ink absorber is full'' see service center

This is what the manual says: Ink used for cleaning is absorbed in a waste ink absorber placed in the machine. Press [OK] to cancel the error so that you can continue printing. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be done until the waste ink absorber is replaced.
Canon recommends to contact a Canon service representative as soon as possible.
