Casio PCR-T2000A Cash Register

I bought this register at an auction. It has all the keys and the manual and I was told that's all I needed. I keep getting error E08 because I don't have the sign on code! Is there a way to reset this machine so I can use it? I need it today! Thanks!

Great, thanks! It worked! Now I'm reading to figure out the programming. BTW, what does "PLU" stand for?

The quickest way to reset that machine is to remove the plug from the wall socket and take the batteries out, leave it five minutes the replace the batteries first followed by the wall plug.
When you turn the key to Reg you will switch the machine on and a row of zeros will appear on the screen.
You will now have to set the machine up from the start including time, date, tax codes and departments.
If this does not clear the sign in code you will need the service key which only technicians have and therefore you will have to contact the nearest Casio service centre.
I don't believe that Casio use a service key, the only service keys I have are for Samsung and Royal registers, I am pretty sure removing the batteries and power will clear everything in that machine. I just read my T2000 manual and there isn't anything there about a service key.

This will explain PLU codes for you.

Basically they are a industry standard of codes used to identify different products.

The only time I ever use PLU's is when I setup a POS (point of sale) with a bar code scanner, it's a lot of work.

How to program two non cumulative taxes on a Casio PCR-T2000A?

Firstly, change the rates for each tax in the tax rate setting tables of your manual. Then you need to turn on tax rate 1 and 2 for departments that need both. This is done in the department programming tables. Tax setting can be quite involved so follow the tables carefully. If you need a programming manual, One of the users has it here:

Casio pcr-t2000A - programming receipt massage/logo Hello, I've purchased this cash register and am having hard time trying to put the company's name on the receipt. I strictly follow the instructions...

That just turns the logo on or off. If there is an old logo there, you don't need to do the 2122 command.
to change the name on most Casio machines:
Turn key to Program mode 2 SUBTOTAL 132 SUBTOTAL Now type the characters for the first line of the receipt using the alphabet on the edge of the buttons. If someone has removed the letters from the keys, just find the alphbet layout in your manual. 00 (double zero button) CASH (maybe labelled CA/AT) 232 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for second line 00 CASH 332 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for third line 00 CASH 432 SUBTOTAL Now type characters for fourth line 00 CASH SUBTOTAL
NOTE: You might have to do 2 receipt prints in REG mode to see the changes
