Hi dear

there is a micro switch under this button. you can open your mouse and verify its malfunction by shorting its pins by tip of a screw driver carefuly and see if this works. then you can replace it. your can also shift this button to right button from control panel-->mouse-->button configuration temporarily.

When you change the left mouse pointer to be the right mouse pointer in the settings of the mouse, then if the right mouse button stops working, it is a software problem and reinstalling drivers is the way to go. If on the otherhand the left mouse button still does not respond, then there is a problem with the switch in the mouse. This is hardware related. Either clean the mouse or buy a new one.

I have a wireless HP 4 button laser mouse NK528AA, model: MORFD7UL. Is there a wireless keyboard that will work with the same dongle?

I'm afraid the the dongle is proprietary and only works with that particular mouse. You can however purchase a separate wireless keyboard and it shouldn't interfere with the mouse.

The mouse was working before and after windows 7 (32 bit) was installed and then it stopped letting me "left click". Any idea as to why?

If it's just the left click that doesn't work, there's a possibility that the button of the mouse itself is jammed. Try it first on another computer or see if there's dust/dirt on the left button of your mouse. You can also try a different mouse on this computer. If it does work then it's your old mouse that is busted

Similar problem which I resolved today.
I have a hp wireless mouse model no. 5189URF. I bought this in hp online in April 2009. It needs 2 x AA Alkaline batteries.
Steps I did to resolve.
1. Removed battery cover.
2. Removed batteries below which 2 screws exist.
3. Remove 2 screws and remove the top casing of mouse.
4. You can see 2 very small square push button corresponding to left and right clicks in mouse.
5. try to press the left button and make sure its free. The issue seem to be that this button becomes rusty internally and lost contact. Therefore clicks are not recognized. You may need to press it repeatedly and also with a slight thrust circumferentially.
6. You can test your mouse in WIndows Help & support option linked with HP hardware diagnostics tool.

After you put new batteries in did you synce the device?
If not you must sync the device, usually its as simple as hitting a button on the reciever (the thing that goes into the computer) and then hitting the button on the bottom of the mouse. try that and see if it helps.

MX600 Logitech laser cordless mouse, left button stops working

Just found a temporary solution (fixes the immediate problem, but it does return):

Turned the mouse off held down both buttons, turned it on, let go of both buttons. When you let go, it works again.

Wireless mouse not working

Try to replace the batteries in it. It may be acting strange due to low batteries. If this does not help you try testing out on another system and post results.

HP Wireless Optical Mouse Fading

Ref wireless mouse. Not sure if you have a solution yet but it seems there could be 2 sources to the problem. First a weak or decaying laser. Second, something you have introduced recently that could interfere with the wireless signal eg mobile phone, another wireless device, cordless phone, telephone wires close to receiver or maybe something else. Not sure what you do if the laser is failing other than clean the lens. You might have to get it checked or try a friends mouse to see if it is better. There s also a setting than can change the sensitivity of the mouse. Have you looked at those settings.
