Question about PC Laptops
I have a big problem with my matshita dvd-ram uj-850S : it cannot read any burned CD or DVD but it works well with originals.
It cannot burn any CD or DVD, I have a message such as calibration error or something like that.
Can you help me ?
Your DVD drive was probably misaligned, probably due to some force applied to it such as when you mistakenly added two DVDs at the same time. Or it may be a factory defect. It is difficult to calibrate a DVD drive or any drive for that matter because of high precision needed.
You may try however to just clean the lens which may have been blocked with dirt. Just eject the drive, you will see the lens somewhere in the middle of the platform. Use a drop of 10% alcohol on the tip of a cotton bud and clean the lens without applying too much pressure.
