If the battery on my E400 runs out I lose all my data. It's as if a factory reset / initialisation has been done. Is there not a backup battery in the device to stop this happening? If there is, does that mean mine needs replacing? If so, how do I replace it?
I know that simply not letting the main battery run out will stop this happening but I'm only human so forget to charge it often and have to set it up again and reinstall everything from scratch.

Re: Losing all my data
PDA technology is a little bit different and there is no possibility to save data like using notebook and there is no memory medium like HDD. That means that you must continuously make data back up using SD Card. If there is no power supply all data will be lost after two or three days.

not sure if this is going to help you out but have a read but make sure it is what you want to do before you do it...Navigate to Settings, Backup and reset and then Reset settings. 2. If you have an option that says 'Reset settings' this is possibly where you canreset the phone without losing all your data. If the option just says 'Reset phone' you don't have the option to save data.16 Mar 2017

Scroll using your "Volume up and down" button until you find the "Factory Data Reset" option. Tap the "Factory Data Reset" option. Tap "Reset phone". This will erase all of your data, but it will allow you to unlock your Android mobile device.
Run a Hardware Factory Reset
A hardware factory reset should be used as a last resort to fix a GS4 . The process will delete all stored information on the GS4 and return the device to its factory configuration; you won't be able to back up your data if you're getting the BSOD. Prepare the phone for the hardware factory reset process by performing a battery reset and pulling out the memory card. You can remove the back panel by pulling on the indentation near the power button. You can leave the SIM card in the device. After you've closed the device, plug it into the charger to avoid losing power during the reset process. To initiate the recovery menu, boot the GS4 by holding the "Volume Up," "Home" and "Power" keys. On the "Recovery" menu, use the volume keys to select "Wipe Data/Factory Reset." Then press the "Power" key to initiate the hardware factory reset.
if you wont mind losing your data that are not backup... you can simply perform a hard reset to factory settings.
1. remove the battery
2. re-instert the battery
3. hold VolumeDown button then press the power button
Do not release the volumedown key til u get to recovery mode
Now that you are in recovery mode,
first try WIPING CACHE
and then reboot your phone.
if the problem persist, then repeat step1-3 again
this time, select WIPE DATA FACTORY RESET
if wiping cache solves it, then your data are intact
WIPING DATA FACTORY RESET wil return ur phone to new without losing any unlocking feautures.

All data will be lost! Remember to back up any important data before doing a hard reset.
When the phone is turned off, press and hold the Home key + Volume down
key + Power key for over 10 seconds. When the screen shows the LG logo,
release the Power key.
After the screen shows the hard reset screen, release the other keys.
Leave your phone for at least a minute while it performs the hard reset, then your phone will be turned on.
anothewr way is :
reset phone to factory settings and
erase all the data on your phone, touch Menu > Settings> Privacy
> Factory data reset > Reset phone.
Resetting the phone does not erase any system software updates you have downloaded or any files on your microSD card,
such as music or photos. If you reset the phone in this way, you are
prompted to re-enter the same information that you did when you first
This can be done through Setting - Factory reset .
Please save all the data .
IF this doesnt helps , try updating the software version of the phone by goint o setting - update firmversion . But this may result in losing your Operating system of the phone . So try only with
Nokia Software Updater .
Or if the Phone hangs on a very frequesnt basis try giving it to NOkia service center .
try restoring your iphone with itunes, but first backup all your needed data. AND be sure your iphone is not jailbroken or have done any hacks to it because restoring it in itune would cause the iphone reset to its factory stae, thus losing all the data, and hacks if you have any(including unlocking) and you might end up doing all again(hacks/unlocking), but if you have done no hacks or unlocking to it, go ahead and fire it up, restore using itunes, and youre good to go.
