Question about Toshiba e400 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Losing all my data

If the battery on my E400 runs out I lose all my data. It's as if a factory reset / initialisation has been done. Is there not a backup battery in the device to stop this happening? If there is, does that mean mine needs replacing? If so, how do I replace it? I know that simply not letting the main battery run out will stop this happening but I'm only human so forget to charge it often and have to set it up again and reinstall everything from scratch.

Re: Losing all my data

PDA technology is a little bit different and there is no possibility to save data like using notebook and there is no memory medium like HDD. That means that you must continuously make data back up using SD Card. If there is no power supply all data will be lost after two or three days.

The P300 has 3 kinds of reset mechanisms, 1. Soft Reset: you can keep all DRAM data. Procedure: Push the Reset button 2. Data recovery after battery disconnect

You are absolutely right. The “SD WIFI+256 MB” don’t work properly. Unfortunately there is no software that can re-establish your data again. You must be very carefully and always make data back up using SD card. This is the best and securest way to save all your data.
