Do you have the reset details for the D68 printer with a Mac?

I run an Epson D68 printer off my iMac which now won't print as it says it needs a service !  How do I get it going again.  It has been printing fine until now so this service thing seems a bit of a con !
    Thanks

Epson D68 does not print anymore. it says that some parts need a maintenance service. How can I reset the counter? I am using a mac mini.

If it says that parts need maintenance its will probably be your waste ink pads are full You are supposed to take the printer to your nearest Epson service station to have it diagnosed the waste pads changed and the printer reset The usual cost for this is about £50 -£60 Or you could try to do the job yourself You need a service manual for your make of printer a set of ink pads and the ssc reset utility or you could take the pads out wash and dry them and reuse them Look up the net for the reset utility for your printer

My epson shows two allternating red lights and wont do anything. It is a d68.

That light sequence indicates your printers waste pads are full.. or rather then printer thinks they are.

You can resolve the problem easily enough by getting it serviced at an Epson Service Center (prohibitively expensive unfortunately) or consider an external waste ink kit.

Resetting the printer may be possible using the SSC utility but I suspect you'll need an adjustment utility which should be available if you dig for bit.

In terms of fitting an external waste kit you can see a guide for the C86 which is almost identical in terms of case design here:

Hope that helps...

Both ink and paper light are flashing alternate and I cant get the printer to work epson d68

Your printer needs to be reset. Flashing lights means that your waste ink pad is full when that happens printer stops working to prevent flooding of waste ink inside your printer. Google search for a resetter program for epson d68. You need to replace the waste ink pad or create a tube line to divert the waste ink out of the printer. Good luck.

Epson D68 red light on constantly, checked the ink cartridges, then had 2 red flashing lights now back to one

Remove and reinsert the cartridges - the cartridge lid may be open.

Also, the printer may need to be reset. From:

Select the Epson resetter, Save, unzip and run.

Hope this helps.

Epsom printer d68

The message means the waste ink pads are full and the internal counter in the printer needs to be reset.

you can take the machine to an Epson Express center who should be able to reset the counter in about 30 seconds. Changing the pads is a bigger job, but if this is the first time the machine has been reset you can probably skip the pad change and just go for the reset.

You could make a modification to the printer to use an external waste tank instead of the pads. Then whenever it reaches the limit again, you can just reset it.

Please rate this post as fixya.
