I have recently bought a new pc which is operating under windows xp and have tried to install the software for active sync. I had no problems with windows 98 but I am unable to install Active Sync on windows xp. I get so far then it stops and is looking for a driver which I do not seem to have. Can anyone help?

Re: Problems with installing Active Sync on Windows xp.

Do you use companion CD for Active sync installation? Can you please tell me which driver is necessary to have? Is there any error message and what is content of this message? It can also be that Active Sync is already installed! Please check at Add and remove Software in Control panel! Otherwise go to www.microsoft.com and download a current version of active sync

ActiveSync is not available for Windows 7, however you can use Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center that will do the same thing: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=46f72df1-e46a-4a5f-a791-09f07aaa1914

Go online and in Google type in "htc sync" then download the version for your operating system example: windows 7/vista/xp/98 or mac, then install and see if that works for you

It comes with Vista and Windows 7 its called Windows Mobile Device Center and Sync Center on 7. On XP you just download Active Sync and install it.

I searched the web but unfortunately, I couldn't find the Active Sync software anywhere. It would be best to contact the manufacturer for the active sync software. That is the only thing that you could do and you could trust.

Good luck and have a great day ahead!

Sync probl

Hi,
Windows Vista is a nuisance, in my own experience.
it has too many issues with drivers et,c.
i,d suggest seeking the setup cd, that would have been packaged with your Hand-held, Or PDA.
This would have had various Applications on it. And Also Active-Sync 3.5. However Vista. Will probably run or use Active-Sync 4.0. which is available from M$ Site. if you download from a computer running Windows 2000 Or XP. then put onto a memory card, or burn to a CD. that you can then install onto your PC.

Long-term, i,d suggest Considering XP. as a more stable and reliable Operating System.

Hope this Helps.

Jornada 568 Sync Problems

All you have to do: Select Device Manager, select "Universal Serial Bus controlled". Re-install the USB driver from Active-Sync CD. That's it.
