Can't download pics onto PC

Hi

I've had my camera for about yr now without having any problems til now. I click "Transfer" in Picture Project and it says "now enumerating" (while my camera says "Preparing to transfer" with an hour glass). After a few long minutes Picture Project tells me "0 of 0 photos selected to transfer" and I'm unable to download my pics.

Any solutions??

Hello,

here is a easier way to view/transfer your videos/pictures.....

if your running Windows Xp or Vista great.

select your menu button on the back of the camera , then Shooting menu, then Set up, scroll down to Interface, then USB, select mass storage. press menu to exit.

turn your camera on after you connect the USB cable to your computer and camera.

a new hardware wizard should be active, Xp & vista provides the drivers and a one time deal. your camera turns into a removable hard drive or like a jump drive.

you can drag & drop the video files easily into a folder .....

Re instal the driver as it may be corrupt, or simply go to my computer, right click, explore and you should see your camera as a drive, right click it>explore and then there will be folders same name as the camera>explore and the pics will be in there, select them all slect cop, then go to the folder you wish to kepp them in and select paste.

Hi i have a nikon coolpix L11 dg cam.. when i connect the camera to the comp.. i get a msg new hardware found... but later during the installation it says, drivers not found... and also i have downloaded...

If you are using Windows 7 then that itself the problem. There is a work around though. You can remove the card from the camera and plug it into the card reader slot on your laptop so that you can just copy the pics like you do from a USB drive. Atleast its a work around till the drivers are available for the camera. PS: IF your lapto does not have a card reader you can purchase one at your local computer store for about 10$

Blame Microsoft updates. Use a card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

Dont know how to get pics out internal memory

Actually, you can do it without the cable.
You need to have the card inside your camera with at least ONE picture. Hit play. Press menu. Scroll down until you see COPY and then choose "Internal to SD Card" Hit All Frames. Hit OK. Done.
Cheers,

Cannot transfer onto my computer for the software is not supported by my operating system

Hi there.
Yes you should be able to transfer the files to the PC without the software CD, just connect it to the PC and it should detect it as a "removeable storage device" click on computer and you should see it, double click on that and you should be able to copy your data to the PC.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Pictures will not transfer off the camera

Here's a silly suggestion for you... is the "lock" engaged on your memory card? It will be a small sliding lock portion on the SD card. If yes, unlock it and try again.

Hmm perhaps the USB Cable has dust in it. Have you tried blowing into the ends to clear any dust?

NIK0N coolpix l3 movie transfer

The movie should be transferred automatically when you transfer the images from the sd card. There should be a folder where the pics are transferred, usually through a program called Picture Project. Look for an icon with the Quicktime logo on it or a movie logo. That should be it.
