I have a 1995 gmc jimmy stereo sound doesnt work

Are you sure you are listening to a stereo program (e.g. FM radio or CD/Tape)? Have you tried adjusting the fade and balance controls? If sound is not coming out of all speakers, you will probably have to replace the radio.

No sound on right side speakers on A&B.Sound does work in test mode. Right side Chanel is working, just no sound on right side front in all input modes. I'm a amateur when it comes to stereos.

Go to "menu/Setup/Speaker level" and adjust the balance of L-R.See page 21 of the manual:

Bass sounds only

That is tricky one. Did you try adjusting the EQ on both the stereo and the amp? Is the Mute turned on because it will act like that? Is both rca jacks plugged in on stereo and amp?

Stereo connection

2 options. It depends on whether you're using it for playback or recording. Keep in mind the signal is only as good as the file. So if, youre playing mp3 that are 128k, its realy not going to sound that great. YOu can run a stereo 1/8 m ( headphone ) to stereo 1/8 m, but make sure its not longer than 6ft. Also you can spend about $40 on something called an Imic made by griffin. This allows you to go usb2 to 1/8" m. Since youre running it to a stereo, which has volume control, you'lll have to do some adjusting on both ends, but make sure the signal is not too hot when youre patching to the stereo.5de7e77.png You can go into ITunes/Preferences/Advanced/Importing, and check the sound quality your audio is set to import at. The higher the bit rate, the higher the resolution, the larger the file. So, it's give or take, and ideally your an external hard drive is where you would want to store your audio. Less stress on your hardd rive and processor(s) during playback.

Hope this helps, keep me posted.

Dim Display

On newer stereos, you might have to experiment with the "panel" wire.

I just installed a VR3, and discovered that the more voltage on the "panel" wire, the dimmer the display.

With no connection, you get full (daytime) brightness. With full voltage, you blank the display.

I wired mine up to the car's instrument lights through a 10Kohm trim resistor so I could adjust the "night" intensity. But if I dim the car's instrument lights, the stereo gets brighter. Oops.

Older car -- I can't just flip a software bit. ;)

But I gather a lot of new stereos are like this. The display on my (factory) stereo in the Mitsu dims a fixed amount when the lights come on, but doesn't adjust with the car's instrument dimmer.
