UNINSTALL i AHVE TRIED TO UNINSTALL THE SCANNER BUT IT COMES UP WITH error 0x8004077077 IPCSETUP.PN DEVICE CONTROL. Can you help me please.my e-mail is michaelwhitham@tiscali.co.uk

Plz try to install the scanner if it fails then download youruninstaller from majorgeeks and try

Scanwise X Software problem on Mac OS X

please check whether you have installed the software in Administrator mode only because it can restrict you in establishing the connection..Also try to restart before you reinstall your Scanwise..hope this helps you..thank you!!..

I cannot get the scanner buttons to work. Nothing is showing up on my system tray to control the scanner buttons. The scanner works fine with software control thru Paperport. I have reinstalled One...


This is usually a symptom of either the basic driver being installed (not the OneTouch 4 software), the destinations for the buttons not being set in the OneTouch 4 software correctly or the monitoring program not being active. (For the X7600, the OneTouch 4 software comes with PaperPort programmed as the default destination for the scan button. If that setting got changed, it could cause the problem.)

The drivers and software are available here: http://www.xeroxscanners.com/en/us/products/drivers.asp?PN=X7600 . Scroll down for the manuals. If you have the basic Xerox driver installed, uninstall it (remove the scanner from the Device list by right clicking on it and choosing uninstall) then disconnect the data cable. Finally restart the computer and then install the One Touch 4 software.

If you have the OneTouch 4 software installed, check if the program is set to run on startup.
Click Start > Run then type "msconfig" (without the quotes) in the Open box. Click OK. Choose the startup tab and look for the Xerox software. Make sure the box is checked. Click Apply after changing the settings and restart the computer.

Next, launch the program (Start > All Programs) and try to launch a scan from the One Touch button panel on the computer. Adjust the settings if needed in the Configuration section of the software (see the manual for screen shots).

The error message "an error


click start control panel administrive tools computer management then select event viewer depending on what operating sytem you have this may vary
extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured you might have to uninstall then reinstall the program and its files
the drivers for the scanner might have been corrupted
you might have to uninstall the printer/scanner restart your computer then reinstall the printer/scanner and its drivers

The scanner stopped working. Error message said

Scanner WORKS but still "not installed" with XP FB620P drivers.


If you have the drivers cd, you can try to click on the unknown device in the device manager and then select update the driver by right clicking on the device and then force XP to look at the install cd for the device. It sounds like you are very knowledgeable with computers, so I will not go into great detail, but the device should be “found” by XP if the device drivers are installed in the systems directory.
One thing that I have done in the past is to uninstall and reinstall the device via the control panel or the manufactures install, repair, and remove option.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Have put in a new colour cartridge but the note on the printer comes up error 50C


Cartridge Error 50C
Your print cartridge has shorted.
  1. Power off your All-in-One and unplug it.
  2. Plug in your All-in-One again and turn it on.
  3. Uninstall and then reinstall your cartridges.
  4. If this does not resolve the issue, try the troubleshooting steps for the other cartridge errors below.
Error: Black Cartridge Missing
The black cartridge is not installed. (Install cartridge PN 82)

Error: Color Cartridge Missing
The color cartridge is not installed (Install cartridge PN 83)


Cartridge Error
Complete the following instructions:
  1. Power off your All-in-One.
  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.
  3. Turn the All-in-One on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
  4. Remove the color print cartridge.
  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
    If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.
  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.
  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.
  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.
  11. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  12. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.

I Have A HP Laserjet 2820 on power up went through to scanner bulb warming up then made a clicking noise comming from scanner unit it was trying to escape the case. if this is the same as yours the problem is that the scanner unit can't find the home position strip mounted betweent the gray case wide piece right hand side as you look down on scanner unit with lid up & the top of the scanner glass inside the scanner unit to get to it you must remove top section of the scanner unit & cleean underside of scanner glass please E-mail me if you want full instruction.

Step 1 - Verify the scanner's power and connection

  1. Verify that the scanner is turnned on
  2. If the Check or Ready light on the scanner is flashing, click VIS1023 - Check Light Blinking on ADF Scanner for more information
  3. Check that the USB cable is connected to both the scanner and the computer
    • It is recommended that the scanner be connected directly to the back of your computer with a 6 foot or shorter USB cable
Step 2 - Redetect the scanner in device manager
  1. Turn the scanner off
  2. Click Here and select "Run" or "Open"
  3. The Windows Device Manager will open
  4. Go to "View" and choose "Show Hidden Devices"
  5. Click the "+" next to "Imaging Devices". This will show all Imaging Devices previously and currently connected to the computer.
  6. If listed, right-click on the DocuMate 510 then left click on "Uninstall"
  7. If asked to confirm the uninstall, click "OK"
  8. If the scanner is listed more than one time, uninstall ALL occurrences of the scanner
  9. IF you see "?Other Devices" in the device manager list, click on the "+" to view the list of Other Devices
  10. Right click on any instince of the scanner in this list then left click on "Uninstall"
    The scanner may be listed as any of the following:
    • USB Scanner
    • USB Device
    • Unknown Device
    • DocuMate 510
  11. Once the scanner has been completely removed from Device Manager, turn the scanner back on
If there is no Found New Hardware message when the scanner is turned back on and the scanner is not listed in Device Manager under Imaging Devices or Other Devices, this typically means the scanner is not communicating correctly with the computer. Try plugging the scanner into a different USB port or using a different USB cable.

Installation problems


Did you plug the scanner in before installing the software? Common mistake... Disconnect the scanner, uninstall the software completely, re-boot, open up the Device Manager, Click View-->Show Hidden devices--> Look for any scanner related drivers that are still installed for the scanner (they will moste likely be grayed out since it is unplugged) and uninstall them (Right click-->Uninstall). Re-boot again, install the software, wait for the software install to prompt you to plug in the device. Follow the quick start guide if it came with one. Check the manufacturers web site for updated drivers, software for you model.
