Question about Gigabyte GA-8ST800 Motherboard

1 Answer

Your link on this topic doesn't work http://www.fixya.com/support/t983275-audio_sound Recommend the use of manufacturer websites not fixya websites, so that all may learn and appreciate your good efforts. By the way, Hi. Been wanting to do this anyway. I like you style.

And Hello Hanto,

Appreciate much the headsup.

It would seem that if the link is an FTP site, FixYa for some reasons add (http://www.fixya.com/ftp://152.104.238.19/pc/audio/6285_Vista_APO_PG536.zip)

Tried it again and the same error. Finally did it enclosed in parenthesis.

Again, thanks.

Cheers.

Hi my son was on website and hes net book crashed so he turned it off.when he put it back on it says windows/system32/config/systems and to prees r to fix but it does nothing.can this be fixed

yes, you need a windows installation disk, but in your case a netbook doesn't have a cd drive so you need to convert the disk to a bootable usb you can do this here http://wintoflash.com/home/en/

To repair windows you can follow the following link:

http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/138-how-to-repair-windows-xp/

I hope this helps, it's a bit complicated, I might suggest taking it to the nearest repair shop.

Want ti install audio drivers

Hi. I hope that this information is the thing you need to get your sound up and going.

First, I am assuming that you are referring to onboard audio, because if it is for a sound card, this ibfo won't work correctly.

This is actually a simple thing to get done, all you need is one download, froma company called REALTEK.

They make the software for the ac'97 audio chips on most motherboards, and they have the software available to everyone for free.

All you have to do, is got to this link:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Just copy and paste the link into your address bar, press enter, and it will take you to their download page.

From there, you can chose which operating system that it goes to, and you can chose between an executable file, or a zip file.

I prefer the exe file version, that way you don't have to worry about unzipping it, remembering where the files went, or anything else.

Run the download, and after it is finished, reboot your computer.

You should now have your audio back in working order!!

See, that was easy, right?

I hope this helps you out, if it does, please give me a good rating, and feel free to post a comment about it!

Thanks in advance, and thanks for using Fixya!

I lost my motherboard cd . i want audio driver for mercury PI45GCM.. PLEASE HELP..

This board has a Realtek on-board sound.
The manufacture has removed the audio driver (and others) from its website, however you can download the AC97 Audio Codec from the Realtek website here:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
Follow link, accept the agreement, download your Driver matching the OS listed in the chart.

Good Luck,

Please rate if helpful.

K9N6PGM2 motherboard cant get front audio micrphone and headphone sockets to work

In my case, it was solved by tweeking the sound utility, and not by touching anything in the computer:

  1. Make sure "Realtek Audio Manager" is installed (should come with the drivers)
  2. Start The "Realtek Audio Manager" (can do it by plugging earphones to the audio jack on the rear - the one the works)
  3. Look for the configuration tab - something like "Connector Settings"
  4. Set the "Disable front panel jack detection" checkbox
  5. Press [OK]
  6. Try again to connect the earphones to the front panel

No sound

Install the appropriate driver for your motherboard in order for the audio device in your motherboard could work. Use the motherboard support cd to install the audio driver. If you don't have it then you can download the software from there website. It should be ecs.com.
