Question about Apple iPhone 3G

2 Answers

Brick my phone has frozen up, or "bricked" several times, always leading to a restore. restoring the iphone takes a long time. syching the iphone also takes forever. even if i just want to add one song, it seems to start from scratch every time. the only way to do it is overnight while you sleep! are there any apps i need to avoid in order to keep my phone running? is there a faster way to synch? i have also downloaded the same album 3 times from itunes and been charged 3 times as well. is there any way to get refunded? i tried but wasn't able to redownload it for free, so i figured itunes can tell they are charging me for the same album and automatically refund.

Why are you re-purchasing the same music over and over again?

Log-in to iTunes and you will see "Library". You should see a few things listed underneath "Library". One of them should be music. Just go through the selections a nd re-down the albums from that screen.

Are you using the hacked version of the iPhone? If so, I would recommend going to the OEM version for starters to avoid most problems. If you are already on the OEM version, then maybe try installing one program at a time to see which one is causing the lockups. This can take some time, but is sometimes the only way to diagnose this sort of problem.

As far as having to download your album 3 times, that is strange. If you've done regular backups when you do your sync using iTunes, then you should not have to Re-Download those albums. They should recover from your PC or Mac when you restore your iPhone. Be sure to include all your purchased items in your backups on the iTunes software.

I have a little experience trying to get refunds from Apple, so I would not hold my breath too hard. You might turn blue... :)

Good luck!

I reset my iphone 3g..and it says that it would only take about an hour..but after an hour in didnt start up..it hanged up..it shows only the logo from the screen. how can i fix this?pls help..thx alot

Hi, How do you reset you iphone? Do you want to restore to original factory setting or restore to the back up. Everytime you connect your iphone to computer which have Itunes, Itunes will try to sync the change between Itunes and your Iphone. Before doing that, Itunes always create a back up. If you want, you can restore to early good point back up. There is other way to restore your iphone. Google and download your iphone firmware, save it. When click Restore in Itunes, press Shift key at the same time, it will ask you the firmware you want to restore, browser where you saved and restore you iphone to the firmware you want. Hope this will help. Thanks for reading.

Updating iPhone and screen locked with Itunes icon and connection image It prompted me to download up updates and it wouldn't take, asked for a disc and locked up

Where u trying to jailbreak the phone >>
It is always good to list ur previous step which lead u to current position in order get the closest possible solution. Try the steps below at ur own risk.

Pls unintall the itunes , clear the catche of ur computer completely , it is always suggested to use a thirdparty cleaners like CCleaner as microsoft catche cleaner does not give 100% result.

reinstall latest itunes,
connect ur phone,
small pop up will appear saying ur phone is in recovery mode, click ok
click restore on the itune screen and let the itune find the latest firmware for ur phone which then will again show u the recommended update in the popup window.

select ok, and seat back. It should help u out unless ur phone has been bricked up.

Calendar freezes...tried rebooting several times..Will not change dates..Frozen on today

Sounds like you need to fully back up your iPhone by syncing it with iTunes. Make sure all your contacts are saved to your sim and anything else important is saved somewhere else.

Once you are sure you have backed everything up plug your iPhone into your computer and load iTunes.

Select your iPhone on the right in iTunes and in the Summary tab there will be a Restore option.

Click that to restore to factory settings and solve your problem.

IPhone 2G hangs at "slide to unlock" - restore not helping

2g solution

3g solution

if it still gives you problems then you have a hardware issue, apple won't touch a jailbroken iphone so hopfully you have the apple care protection. Restore it to factory settings and try to take it in for service.

IPhone 2G hangs at "slide to unlock" - restore not helping

I have an iphone that does this at times too! I have to reboot it periodicly, seems more often when I use it a lot. I have found several issues with winterboard and plugins for it to cause some of my problems. might try changing your screen to normal and see if it still acts this way.

if you restored it, you're going to have to unlock it from scratch. PWN has a new tool out to unlock the iphone even if it's been "bricked". that's what i used when i accidentally restored my original iphone from 1.1.4 to 2.0 by mistake. works great. Just google the "download PWN iPhone 2.0" it's easy to use.

P.S. this may take some time if you've never unlocked a phone before, my first time took 1.5 hours.

Iphone Frozen in Boot Screen

hello again!

try to restore option first on your iphone.

step 1: Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed iTunes 7.4 or later from www.apple.com/itunes. .

Step 2: Connect iPhone or iPod touch to your computer.

Step 3: In iTunes, select iPhone or iPod touch in the Source pane and click the Summary tab.

Step 4: Click "Check for Update." iTunes will tell you if there's a newer version of the iPhone or iPod touch software available.

Step 5: Click Update to install the latest version of the software. Or click Restore to restore iPhone or iPod touch to its original settings (this erases all data on iPhone or iPod touch). Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process.

One of the risks you take when modifying the apple iphone, bricking the phone and voiding your warranty. Have you tried disconnecting the iphone, restarting computer and trying the restore again?

be careful the next time you modify anything out of normal operating procedure. Try restarting your computer and running itunes again with restore, If that does not help, to get some money out of it put an ad out for BRICKED IPHONE 100$.
