Turn the computer off completely, and then turn it back on.
Press and hold the "Esc" key on the keyboard immediately after turning the computer on. After a moment, the computer will prompt you to press the "F1" key to enter the motherboard BIOS configuration utility.
Press the "F1" key when you see the prompt. The BIOS configuration utility will load.

Toshiba Tecra 8000 Laptop has been stored for 1 year, never had a password, now when turned on just sits there asking for a password, pulled it apart and disconnected 2? batteries but made no difference

Try accessing the BIOS screen when it boots up by pressing either the ESC or F1 keys repeatedly and there should be a password or supervisor password section where you can disable all the passwords.

I think I erased my bios on my tecra 8000 laptop. haven't had any luck finding or getting a bios to load in it

Need to remove a bios password from a toshiba tecra laptop

You will have to strip the laptop and access the round battery on the motherboard. Remove that battery for 2 minutes and then put it back in.

This will remove the password

Upgrading my tecra 8000 mother board

You don't have to change or replace your motherboard ..

just go to toshiba website........select your model by its serial No. and download the all available Drivers like Sound, Video, bios, management etc.....

install all these Drivers on your Laptop......... your motherboard will be up-to-date.
