Xp sp3 wireless not working properly

I allowed xp pro to download sp3 and afterward my wireless connection would not complete the the wpa link. I have since turned off the wpa in the router and the link works. When I turned it back on the same problem returns.

This was very informative. I couldn't download the listed fix. I tried to restore back and found it made it worse. I un restored and had to reload the wireless card's driver. I found that it worked after that. I don't what you did but it works now

    Thank you

You can try this WPA patch for SP3

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=009D8425-CE2B-47A4-ABEC-274845DC9E91&displaylang=en

If this does not work you can revert back to SP2 by

Click start then control panel then go to add/remove programs. Look for Service Pack 3 and remove

If that does not work you can also do a system restore by

Click start then run then type in msconfig
Click on launch system restore.
Restore to a date before your SP3 update.
Note: All other installations after this date will be lost
Your files will NOT be lost

Windows\system32\config\system file is missing or corrupt

Step 1:
SP3 is the third and final service pack released for Microsoft Windows XP, and it eliminates many of the security holes that previously affected XP. While Microsoft recommends that users download SP3 using Windows Update, some users are unable to do so. However, it's easy to create a Windows XP SP3 installation CD; it requires only that you download the pack from the website and burn it to a CD-R/DVD-R using an ISO burner program.
Download the SP3 installation ISO by visiting the first link listed in the "Resources" section of this article. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." Navigate to your Desktop and select the SP3 ISO file. Click "Open." Click the blue "ISO to CD" button located on the bottom left of ImgBurn. The program will begin creating the Windows XP SP3 installation CD. This process may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete depending on the speed at which the CD-R/DVD-R is being burned. Click "OK" once the CD-R/DVD-R has finished burning. You've successfully created a Windows XP SP3 installation CD.

I have a windows xp and i would like to setup a WEP/WPA key

When youclick Refresh network list, then Choose yourwireless network and then click Connect to your secured WirelessNetwork, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connectinto your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, orWPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphraseis an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I lost my installation disc for windows xp pro and I needs product key code?

Its illegal for anyone to provide serial keys for programs that have retail value set on them
If you are trying to recover a key of an already installed program on your computer there are freeware keyfinders on the internet
http://download.cnet.com/%7Bvalue=http://www.download.com/magical-jelly-bean-keyfinder/3000-18487_4-10079600.html The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install windows from your registry.
It has the options to copy the key to clipboard, save it to a text file, or print it for safekeeping.

The process "winlogon.exe" runs in the background.
Winlogon is a part of the Windows Login subsystem, and is necessary for user authorization and Windows activation checks. http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/proces...

Note: The winlogon.exe file is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. In other cases, winlogon.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm! Check this with Security Task Manager."
Microsoft designed Windows so many small applications perform their tasks without a user knowing about it.
Normally, this will run smoothly and without flaw, but every once in a while, an issue can come up.
Winlogon.exe is an application that runs on start-up, and its primary function is to monitor the use of other applications.
Winlogon.exe typically only runs for about a minute or two when Windows first boots up, so if for some reason it is still running five or 10 minutes later, it could be infected.
Spyware and other malware would infect this application because it can manipulate other programs in Windows, causing problems.
If this is the case, the file might need to be removed.
if you want to remove this from
Open "My Computer" and select the "C:" drive.
Double click the "Windows" folder, then select "System 32." Navigate through the System 32 folder until you find "Winlogon.exe."
Click the "Winlogon.exe" file and hit "Delete."
Select "Yes" when asked if you're sure you want to remove the program.

Windows cannot configure this wireless network

What OS are you running? XP? Most wireless networks are now using the WPA protocol and computers with XP that are not updated at least to SP2 will not connect to these networks even though you can see them available. I would go ahead and updated to the latest SP3 (Service Pack 3). I cant really be more helpful without knowing the OS (operating system).

Windows explorer not initiated at startup and hangs the system,

I had this XP problem with Norton recent after SP3 got on.
Clean install and no antivirus, straight afterwards a bootable CD with SP3 then I replace already removed Norton with Avast virus scanner.
Superfast, all problems I ever had gone. Likely the scanner.

Windows xp service pack3 no wireless internet

ok, this is an easy fix, just go into device manager and unistall the wireless card, dissable AVG firewall and activate microsoft's firewall. Then Download CCleaner and clean the registry, you can download it from here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

when you have cleaned the registry restart the pc, it should now detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, it will show this in the system tray (bottom righthand side where the time is)
This should resolve the problem for you
post back if you still have problems

OS Matter

Nope.

Without the disk you cannot upgrade to Windows XP Pro, because both Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional are two different edition / version.

So if you want to upgrade your current operating system from Windows XP Home then you have to spend money to buy Windows XP Pro

But if you want to upgrade the Service Pack then you can very well do it.

Click the link below to download Windows XP SP3 for your edition and install it. Before installing it make sure you have turned off your security programs or better install it from the SafeMode
