Clint,
Looks like these came with two different types of processors, and they aren't changeable, so your stuck with the processor that's in it, but both are good processors with good speed. The memory is going to be either PC2100 or PC4200 depending on the processor type. It has either 256mb 0r 512mb built in with one expansion slot that you can add up to a 512mb chip. Currently, I would recommend running XP versus Vista. Vista still has alot of bugs that they're trying to work out. So, with a general clean up, maintenance, tune up, adding a 512mb chip, and installing XP with all the necessary software and drivers you're looking at around approx $250 plus tax.

I would love to have your business, but my shop is in Missouri, so I'm going to give you a link that has local computer shops in the Houston area. Try contacting one or more of them for a complete estimate, and I'm sure that they'll allow you to ship now and pick up when you get there. I hope this helps you out, and if you need anything else, just ask.

To my understanding I have never seen this done, I have checked a lot of bios settings in different computers over the years, and I have never come across an option that offers auto start.

It seems Panasonic discontinued the CF-73 and there is no updated drivers to support Windows 7. Sorry.

The panasonicCF-73 tough book I am using has 256 RAM, can I increase this to 1gb or 2gb? Thank you,

According to: http://www.upgradecomputermemory.com/ram.cfm/memory/P/Panasonic/Toughbook-Series/Toughbook-73-CF-73

your CF-73 has "integrated" 256MB of memory, and supports a maximum addition of 1GB of RAM.
The web-site says about $33, which _definitely_ is a good investment to speed-up your computer.

I want to know where I can find a free download that I could copy the product recovery dvd-rom for the CF-73. I bought a refubished unit but it did not come with disks. Want to have for backup for possible...

Hi you cannot download the recovery cd's you can only download drivers.
I use to work for HP and i know like HP Dell toshiba, gateway, Sony, if you call them they will shipp you the recovery cd's either free of cost or just charge you for the shipping like in US its $10- $25.

Its a good odea to call them and get your cd's asap because most of the manufacture just keep the support cd's with them till 5 yrs after that you cant order.

once you get the cd make sure you run them just to check if it works because a lot of them fails.

Cf 73 touchscreenn

Go to the Panasonic site, go to their support pages and use the serial number from the laptop to find the original configuration. The touch screen drivers will be there, just download and install. Keep a copy of the drivers on cd for the next time your computer is reformatted or crashes.

Renewal,refurbish,repair

Hi Clint,
Let me start by asking what the configuration is now, memory and processor size, hard drive size, and are you wanting it cleaned up inside and out or just bumping up the performance? Also, are you a US citizen, military, or just coming for a visit, and where will you be at in the States? What I'm going to do is recommend you bring it with you, and after you give me the current configuration, and where you're going to be here in the States, I'll give you an idea of what you can do to get it upgraded, the approximate cost, and where to take it when you get here.
