If you cannot find the orginal operating disc for your computer, then you have an option of buying one on the internet.
You can go to www.compaq.com and order the system restore disk if you can't find the one that came with the computer.
Well Jasmin I got as far as I could about getting you a restore disc, but ran into a problem at the website..seems that there are different models of the v2000...you will have to finish, as I do not have the total infomation...
So I would recommend that you go to this webpage and you you will be at the point you have to choose the model of your compaq v2000...

If you know how ?reset the memory and restart the computer
at the boot press F8 if the menu appears try last known good confiuration that worked if this does not work you need to format and reinstall the os the blue screen is and indication of driver failuer or hardware conflick and if the system.last good config will only work 1 time after that it will wipe out the os and you will have to restore from the restore disk,and the best way to do that is to reformat the drive and do a clean install ,but if you have windows there is a restore mode your disk will say press F2 to restore now
hello. do you have the soft ware that can with it .? when u got it. ? you can try to reinstall it. or get new software to upgrade it . up need to wipe the harddrive clean and start fresh copy.on your HARDDRIVE. !!! OR TAKE IT IN TO A SHOP AND LET THEM DO IT FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK.
