Question about Whirlpool GGW9200L Gas Dryer

1 Answer

No light on the control panel.

No lights on the control panel is lighting up, but the light inside the drum is working.
I opened it up and there's power reaching the control board, so I'm guessing the control board is busted. I did some research and there's a new part #, I guess there was a problem with the old design?
I found a bunch of these new parst for sale on e-bay, item # 370075790320. I hope this fixes the problem
Anyone have any comments? I'll post a reply if this works.

I've checked and there's power going to the control panel. Since the control board failure is a common problem, I just bought a new control board on E-Bay. My friend had the same problem, he just left it in front of his house and bought a new dryer, not a Whirlpool of course.

The new dryers need both hots(red & black) and the white plus ground to operate the control panel properly do you have a three prong or 4 on the dryer out let? try a new cord & plug before calling someone

Why do the Automatic cycles on my Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer not always work?

In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

Dryer will not start. Power light is on. No coins are stuck in drum liner. No blockage. Recent repair replaced mother board at a cost of $500.00. The same repairman rep

Without a complete model number it's hard to say which direction to go. You might need a door switch, some door switches with an interior drum light will be a 3 wire switch allowing the interior light to come on but not the dryer start when the door is closed. Some dryers had a start relay mounted inside the control panel, which is controlled by the main board, failure of these relays can cause a no-op situation. Pleazer Appliance...

Light inside works no power to panel

I didn't READ any fault in the machine?! It is "just" the Light remains on? Typically, when the dryer ends it's cycle as a safety feature the light will remain in the ON position for a brief period of time. The reason you get no working functions is because the safety feature is disallowing any unauthorized entry in the drum (Kids). The feature usually can be shut off by reading the owners manual. It can not be reset by unplugging the machine! That is the default setting

You have a faulty door switch. Here is the replacement switch.
There is a video on that same parts page to show you how to replace it.

Kenmore Elite Electric Dryer, Model # 110.8586400, Control Panel Lights inoperative, But Drum Light works fine. I am going to try this procedure, Will let you know if it works. Jay/ Jacksonville Florida...

I followed that procedure, Taking the Electronic Control Unit out of the dryer, Blow Drying the printed circuit Board (PCB) Board out and reseating P3 and P4, Worked fine.. No moisture was found in the Drum area. I forgot to tag the TECH SHEET FOR this particular dryer . But punch in Tech sheet , Part # 8546206 into google, this gives Schematic and valuable Troubleshooting steps, The only thing i could not find was the pin to pin test on chekcing the individual switches on the main functions, Suppose to be 14 pins I only found 13. But in all drying the PCB board and reseating the plugs worked for me. Again the symptons were no Light indication on ANY button depressed but the drum light was on. Whirpool GGw9250Pw3 no power on Control Panel Inside light works

In my case, the problem was a dead main board. The board cost $190 and the overall repair cost $335. I will never buy another Whirlpool due to this experience.

Kenmore HE4 no power to control, no sound, but the drum light bulb on when door opened

Another post reported replacing the power cord. I am trying to determine if this is a factory defect. Check the power at the power cord connections inside the dryer. You could have lost power on one leg and the other 120 volt leg is letting the light work. Let me know what the model and serial number is.

Drum light works - contol lights don't/can't start dryer.

Either the machine control, or the user interface. Further diagnosis isn't possible. I'd try the machine control first. It's just under the top panel, along the left side.
