How do I turn OFFG pop up blocker?

If this is an AOL supplied pop up blocker try the steps below.

Try looking at the top of your aol browser for something like tools or settings. Search inside them for the popup blocker. You can also just type popup blocker in aol's help to find out how to turn it off.

If this is an Internet Explorer pop up blocker, try the steps below:

Turn off the pop up blocker in the Internet Options in the control panel. Click Start/Control Panel/Internet Options or Start/Control Panel/Network and Sharing. Look for Internet Options. If you have the menu bar at the top of your browser just click Tools/Internet Options. When Internet Options opens click the Privacy tab and look down towards the bottom and remove the check mark from Turn On Popup Blocker the click Apply/OK.

If you have google toolbar at the top of your browser it has a pop up blocker also. So you can turn it off by clicking where it says Blocked, then it will allow popups from that website.

Cleared all aol programs still can't download latest aol.

Check the Event log to see if it shows any errors for AOL, go to control panel, then into administrative tools, you will find "event viewer", when opened on the left of the window click on application and look in the list for a warning or error for AOL, also check system on the left of the window, it should tell you whats going wrong

mywebsearch is junkware, crapware, adware that you don't want. It moniotrs your browsing habits, then searches the internet in the background to bring you popups, and junk email based on your usage habits.

Spyware and viruses can exploit these programs easily to gain access to your email contacts and personal info.

Download, install, update, and scan with spybot s&d. You may be able to remove it from "add/remove programs" in control panel but spybot will remove the trace elements so it won't come back.
These usually come from downloading using limewire, imesh, bearshare, kazaa, morpheus, and the like. If you're downloading, use torrents.

volume control is normally located on the bottom right hand corner beside the clock, just double click on the speaker icon and you should be able to adjust the volume.

Limewire connection

you need to find your router address from your manual (eg. 192.167.0.1). Then type this number in Internet Explorer address bar. If you did all ok at this point you should be opening browser control panel in Internet Explorer. Go to firewall page. Set Limewire software (you may need to use full path eg. C:\program files\limewire\) as an exception in ur firewall.

cheers

Hello Fignewton
Happy Holidays
this is a easy task, just go to add/remove programs in contro panel, and go ahead and remove the AOL 9.OVR. then all other things from AOL. eje, internet connection AOL. etc. then, reinstall the AOL 9. ONLY. depending on your internet connection, modem? wireless, cable, see if all work fine.
