Then the tv screen went black and would not come back on. turned unit off, let it sit for a couple of minutes then tried to turn it back on but would not turn on, heard a 3 second low buzzing noise when tried turning back on then stopped. Happens when you try and turn it on but nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Unfortunately i think your motherboard as short circuited. your best possible solution is to take it to a repair shop. if it is under warrenty take and get a replacement.part of the problem is most times it costs more to repair it than replace it especially if you have a major circuit short which i believe you do. I hope I have been helpful. please rate this solution. thank you and good luck.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Normally on the Panasonic tv this will call for a service call. The key to getting it repaired correctly is to check for a certified Samsung repair shop because most of the parts come from Samsung. Now if you want to do your own research call to 800 number for Panasonic Tv see if there are any problems with that model that the manufacturer has extended but does not post. I had one repaired that the red light on also so I understand and it went out approximately 4 3/4 years. If your in the Atlanta area use Norman electronics they have repaired hundreds on tvs for me due to my work.

Get rid of it! I started out with the small black smoky line, went to two horizontal line, , , , I now have a 10 " line half way across the screen in two places and the rest of the line is 4-6". Contact Samsung three times on line and they responded with " we do not understand the problem, please explain. Oh yeah, TV was 2.5 years old. Never will buy Samsung again.
My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display problem (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.
Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further solution updates will be on my Facebook page.
Greeeting from Belize you are having a problem either with cold solder or a problem in the power supply those lines are hum bars due to a defected filter cap.resolder your power supply if that does not solve the problem then you replace the power supply you can get a power supply kit from www.dalbani.com in florida.good luck.also make check in the vertical section if you cannot do it your self take it to a qualified tech to resolve your problem this should cost you about $75.00. to get it fix.
