Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Hi, I have one of the above units, which apparently needs an amplifier circuit board for the left channel which was damaged when hooked up incorrectly.
I'm no stereo or electronics buff, in fact am quite ignorant. All I know is the amp is not going, a local repairs shop said I needed a circuit board but would be impossible to find. I love the sound, would love to be able to repair it, but am kinda stuck.
I am from New Zealand, and would appreciate any help or advice.
These boards won't be available any more, but the board should be repairable. Unfortunately most shops these days only replace boards they do not perform compoent level repairs. I don't know of any repair shops in your area since I'm in the USA. Try posting a question to Robotek who resides in Australia. I know thats no too close, but it is closer than me. Otherwise, search the web for a service manual as will I. This can be repaired. I suspect that the output transistors are shorted and perhaps the driver circuit needs repair as well. None of these areas are difficult to repair for anyone with audio repair experience at the component level. Perhaps we can repair this over the net if you can solder...

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Best guess is that your source button or whichever button changes from cd, to Tuner, to usb, to Card, is shorted, and needs cleaning. Its like the button is always pushed.
see if you can carefully dsiassembly the reciever to get to the circuit board behind the button I speak of, and clean it.
