MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format.
You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track. Once you have added files in one mode, those files cant be changed in the other. Solve your MP3 Player Connection Problem.
See my tip posted here about this problem. Now Sony has 2 programs on their site for the walkman. One is called "Content Transfer" the other is called "Media Manager for Walkman" Check out these programs see if they help. Lastly, on the back of the player Is a small hole the tip of a paper clip will fit into to reset the player, try that if all else fails.
When you plug your mp3 player it asks you what you want to do, your probably picking the option that syncs everything in your library. just choose take no action and go into your computer, and ckick your mp3 player and drag and drop the songs your tryng to add. that worked for me,
Here is the info from Sony:
Is it possible to drag and drop music from the Apple® iTunes® software to the portable player using the Content Transfer Application?
Yes, if you have iTunes software installed, you can transfer music and playlists from iTunes software to the Walkman® player by dragging and then dropping the files to the Content Transfer application.
The Content Transfer application supports data transfer from iTunes software 7.6 or 7.7 to the Walkman player.
The Content Transfer application supports data transfer from iTunes software 8.0. However, for playlist transfer from iTunes software 8.0 to the Walkman player, make sure you are using the latest version of the Content Transfer application. The latest version can be downloaded from the Sony Support Web Site at http://esupport.sony.com
Digital Rights Management (DRM) copyright-protected files are not supported. iTunes music files may be able to be upgraded to iTunes Plus music files, which do not contain DRM.
Do not disconnect the USB connection during data transfer.
If there is insufficient free space on the portable player, the data cannot be transferred.
The Content Transfer application is included with most newer Walkman Video players. It also is available for additional models in the NWZ-A, NWZ-E, and NWZ-S series. Some models may require an update to be compatible. Additional model-specific information can be found in the Drivers & Software section of the Sony Support Web Site at http://esupport.sony.com.
Windows Explorer works! - Just put the MP3 files in the "MUSIC" folder when the drive letter shows up after you plug it in - I found that WMP can see mine but doesnt like to do anything with it as far as transferring files.. Look again in the Fixya page for this model player as I just listed how to convert videos correctly also. firstname.lastname@example.org
Check if the player is in Autodetect/MTP then try retransferring the songs on the player. And before unplugging the player from the computer check if the files are transferred to the player click on the sansa e200 player on the left window to check if it had really transfferred the songs to the player. If it still wont work, try trasnferring songs using windows media player.
