Was watching TV, heard a slight "pop" noise then TV went dead - no picture or sound. When I hit the power "on" button on remote, the green light blinks for quite a while (around 40...

Count the number of blinks. Now, Google your make and model with the words blink codes added to the end. This will show you links to sites that will tell you what the blink code means and the problem with your set. The blink code is the sets way of telling the service man what is wrong. From the sound of it, you have a bad capacitor.

While watching tv, there was a faint "pop" and the tv went dead. it will not turn on by front buttons or remote.

Does the power indicating flash three times then go out when power is pressed? If so you may need a deflection board which is famous for problems with the ITC222 chassis.

TV was on but picture wasn't as clear. I pressed the "device" button and the TV immediately went to snow. Now I don't get a response with pressing any buttons on the remote or any buttons on...

Try the soft reset, with set on and original remote hit 1,2,3 enter, some versions require menu first.

let me know if it helps.

The set also has a hard reset but only as a last resort.

Reset button search. RCA Model# HD56W66,Serial# F305CG081, Chassis# ITC222A

Televisions haven't had reset buttons in awhile. Of coarse i say that and there will be one that does.. standard reset on most television is to unplug and plug back in in about 30 min to and hour. THis set does not have a reset button. first question is the set completley dead. does the front light flash. If it does it means the sets processor is getting power and is detectecting a condition and shuting it down for safety. if it does not flash it means the processor is not getting power.

TV will turn on, but not respond

Good Day, mistymiles;

Try this before calling a factory authorized service center:

Press " menu 2 > 4 > 7 > 0 > enter", on remote. After settings have been initialized > press the system reset button on the front, once the LED stops blinking > reprogram settings and tuner channels (if not using box). IF NOT fixed call for service (get estimate before repair) and suspect repair of DM PCB (printed circuit board).

Good Luck, big IRISH.
