MT 2000 800mhz programming

I have an 800mhz MT 2000 that I would like to reprogram. I have the cable enroute and have began searching for software, tips and tricks. Well, I was looking at the owners paperwork and it says that RSS programming is available for the UHF/VHF models. What about the 800 mhz models? Then where do you get the software for programming? Also, somewhere I read that you can't use a computer with any Windows influence whatsoever to use the program. Is this true? How do you run a DOS program without any windows influence? Do I have to find a decades old computer?

In our shop we use an old 386 computer to run the MT2000 software. You must use a computer which is of the same era as the radio. If you visit your local radio shop you will see their programming area crowded with various computers for this very reason.

Depending on the cable you have, you may need the RIB (radio interface box) also. Software is Motorola proprietary, as vrc_tech stated. Dealers subscribe to the software, paying a fee for 3 years of use. It has been known for this software to be available in pirated versions on the internet, however, these are not always stable and can cause issues with your radio. So beware of wolves in sheeps clothing. The best recommendation is to have them reprogrammed by a dealer.

The 800MHz MT2000 software can only be purchased from Motorola and you can not purchase it unless you are the owner of the 800MHz Site or a Motorola Dealler that sales system radios. Your Local motorola dealer will program the radio for you but you must have written permission from whom ever is in charge of that system.

You must buy Motorola software from Motorola. Get a cable from them also. You also must have an FCC License to legally operate these radios. Your best best is to go through a dealer. The FCC License is quite hard to do without a dealer guiding you. It is easy to be ripped off and you must go through a coordinator. If not USA, still go through a dealer. The software and cable issue does not go away, ever.

How to flash

my dear,
flashing requires software.
There are a few good downloadable cell phone flashing programs out there that will guide you through reprogramming your cell phone to use on many other carriers. If you have basic computer knowledge and a USB cable almost anyone can Flash or reprogram a cell phone. To begin search for a Flashing program on the internet if you don't already have one. I have used software from http://www.yourcellular.net/need_help.html in the past and recomend them. Using their software along with the videos and tutorials I was able to flash my phone in 20 minutes with no experience. Once downloaded unzip the file and search for the instruction or read me docs and follow them carefully. Look for instruction on your specific phone. See the video below. This will give you a good overview of what you will be doing. Your flashing program may not match the video exactly but you will get the idea. You should be able to complete the process in about ten to fifteen minutes once setup. You will be Flashing a CDMA phone to a CDMA carrier. See a description of the two major networks below.
What do I Need to Flash My Phone ?
1.)flashing software ( which you can download )
2.) A USB cable for the phone you're flashing
3.) A computer with Windows 2000 or Newer, a USB Port, 800Mhz+, 256MB RAM
4.) A CDMA cell phone( see below )
The Networks
In addition to the list above you will need an account with the CDMA carrier you wish to sign up with. There are two major networks for cell phone carriers. They are GSM or Global System for Mobile Communications. Examples are AT&T, T-Mobile The second CDMA or Code Division Multiple Access.Examples are Qwest, Metro, Sprint and Verizon. These are technologies which essentially allow a mobile device to communicate with a mobile communications network.

How to reprogram two way radio, its a motorola gp 339 and its set to 5 channels from when i brought it, can i reset it or reprogram it to normal uhf channels?

In order to reprogram this Motorola GP339 you need to have a programming software, radio interface box and programming cable for this radio then you can read and change frequency in it. To reprogram to UHF channels this radio must be in UHF band. Good luck!

How difficult is it to change freq in a sph21dt 2 way radio? Isn't it a simple plug in to a programmer?

You have to go to a Uniden dealer. They have the software, and the cables to reprogram the radio. You could buy the software and cables yourself if Uniden has them for sale. I bought 2 Yaesu FT-2800M's with the programming software and CAT cable (the software and cable cost $30) and found it a delightful and easy way to program the radios.
Longshorts.

Motorola HT 1000 programming cable

Sorry to let you down, but the cable will only function with the appropriate Motorola software (and possibly a radio interface box (RIB) if the cable type you have requires one.) Software is only available to dealers. If you are needing reprogramming, it is generally available for between $25-$40 US.
