Monitor remains black after start up

Be sure your monitor cable is plugged in tightly on both ends (computer & monitor). If still not working, try another monitor (borrow from a friend, family, another computer). If that works, your monitor went bad.

When you first power on the computer does the monitor work fine?
can you boot into safe mode? - Click Here for step by step to boot into safe mode.
If the Monitor works in Safe mode or works when you first power on the computer then it could most likely be an issue with your Video Card.
Try testing the Monitor on the laptop to see if it gives you the same issue. If it doesn't then you know for sure it the Desktop. I would most likely say its the video card.
If it turns out to be the Desktop, post the model of the PC and I can help see what other options you have.

No screen

MOST likely the monitor is bad if you don't hear any beeps when booting up.

If you unplug the monitor the screen should say NO SIGNAL

The l226wtq goes black

Try shining a flashlight on the screen, or without the flashlight, try to see if you can distinguish anything on the screen at all, if you do, the backlight is dead, or the monitor has an internal most likely unfixable problem.

Monitor not working

It may well be dead. Try testing the monitor on another working PC. Also try a working monitor on the problem PC. Then you will know whether it's the monitor or the PC graphics card that's faulty.

TFT monitor went dead

Hi
How old is your TFT Monitor?
It looks like the Monitor has got some problem.
First, make sure the cables are connected correctly.
Try Changing the connecting cable (between monitor and pc) with another one.
Try using another monitor with your pc & using same cables.
If the problem persits, pls try your monitor on another Computer.
This is all what you can do, if the problem wasn't solved, then maybe the problem is in the monitor that you need to take it to a specialit to repair it for you.
I hope my steps were helpful.
