Pioneer plasma tv will not connect with the tv channels but will allow videos or Netflix what is needed to fix this problem Thank you

To get the TV channels, its input selection should be TV. Check it. To receive video and Netflix, the input selection is AV. Try by changing the input select to TV, and then check. If it do not help you the tuner inside the TV is faulty, and should be replaced. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Im having problems with my brand new Westinghouse LD4255VX. i bought it tonight, took it home and took it out of the box. at first it turned on fine, then got to about the 3rd step in the setup menu and...

It sounds like the problem is simply the input selection.

SELECTING THE INPUT SOURCE

There are two ways to select the video input source.

Using the Individual Input Keys
TV, PC, Video, YPbPr, HDMI Keys

Press any of the following remote control keys to change the input source: TV, PC, Video1, YPbPr1, HDMI1, or HDMI2.

No picture on this TV. Sound is OK

Hi! Welcome to Fixya!

If you are unable to view video on your television set, the issue may be that the TV's video input selection does not match.

The TV input source must match how the equipment for example DVD is connected to the TV. Every TV is different in the way that the ports are configured on the back of the TV and the menus are presented on the TV screen; however, there are some basic similarities between them.

To correct the issue, use the TV's remote control and change the video input selection. Many newer TVs have an auto-detection system and will automatically detect that something is connected to the various ports on the back of the television. However, some TVs have to be configured manually.
Some common names of the button on the TV remote are:
  • Video Source
  • Video Input
  • TV/VID
Locate the video input menu for their specific TV. Below is an example of the video input menu of a TV.

This example indicates check boxes next to the items that the TV is detecting. Be advised that this menu must match the location on the back of TV where video components are connected.
You may also check if all cables are properly connected.

Thank you.
Keep me posted. :)

When I switch on the unit, i can hear the sound but there is no picture

Hi! Welcome to Fixya!

If you are unable to view video on your television set, the issue may be that the TV's video input selection does not match.

The TV input source must match how the device for example DVD player is connected to the TV. At the back of Samsung's LN40A650A HDTV are three HDMI inputs, plugs for component input, an antenna input for the DTV receiver and a VGA input. Please check on what port the device is plug.

To correct the issue, use the TV's remote control and change the video input selection.
  • Press the Menu button on the remote control and navigate to TV Input
  • Only ones that are actually connected are highlighted and available.
  • If there are multiple device connected please make sure you select the device you want to connect.
You may also check if all cables are properly connected.

Thank you.

II HAVE A 13 INCH BRAND MODEL DWT 1304. I JUST WANT TO USE IT FOR A DVD PLAYER. I HAVE NO REMOTE ,HOW DO I CHANGE THE TV TO PLAY DVD OR VEDIO

Connect the composite video RCA (yellow) cable output of the DVD player to the TV's video input RCA (yellow jack). Connect the red and white RCA cable from the DVD players audio output to the TV's audio input (red and white jacks). Select the source input from the TV's control panel - if it has an input selector switch, set it to select the video source from the front panel input jacks if you connected the three cables - yellow, red and white on the front of the set. Or, change the channel to receive the video auxiliary input source instead of the broadcast station.

Hi CindyCee,

Manual donwload

Video input source is changed by the buttons:
1. Video Source
2. Input
3. TV/Video
4. Source

one of those four on the remote some where.

Also, chances are your TV itself will have one of those buttons somewhere.
Usually pressing it will either cycle through the inputs or bring up a selection of them, which is usually navigated by either arrow buttons on your remote or the channel up and down keys.
Lemme know how it goes.
