Question about Olympus EVOLT E-500 Digital Camera

Card Error Hello. I am having a problem with my camera reading my card. My card was working fine. I took the card out to have the pics saved onto a disk. When I put my card back in my camera it first said that the card was full but it would not pull up any pictures. So I panicked because I thought I had lost all my pictures and I went back to Target and checked out my card to see if it still had pictures on it. It did....so I saved all the pictures to a cd and I was then going to delete them off the card using my camera. Ok...so I put my card back in and now it says card error. What is the dill pickle? Do you think that I just need a new card or is something wrong with my camera? Thanks, Jill

Camera still reads full and will not work when new memery card installed

I had the same problem. Your memory card likely has too much memory. I put in a 4G card and it would not take a photo. Every time the camera went off it said "Error - Card Full".
You have 2 options.
1.) You can remove the memory card and use the internal memory to take photos (it will only hold 20 pics) and transfer them onto the memory card by shutting the camera off, inserting the card, turning the camera on, wait for the menu to clear and then shutting the camera off again and removing the card. This does work, but you are limited in the number and quality of photos that you will get.
2.) Get a smaller capacity memory card. I went out and bought a 2G card. Funny thing is that the camera wouldn't even recognize it at first. When I turned the camera on a message saying "Please wait" kept flashing on the screen. I waited 10 minutes and just shut it off and pulled the card again. I took the card home and formatted it on my PC. When I put it in the camera the next time it worked fine. So to save you some trouble, buy a smaller card and FORMAT it on your computer before trying it in the camera. It will save you a headache. After all of that BS I finally got the stupid thing to work. It takes beautiful pics but I will not be buying another Cuddeback. My next trail cam will be a different brand for sure. Not worth the hassle IMO.

Fugi S5000 2gb xd M+ Computer says it's not formated

Yes, it would appear that you solved your own problem. The Fuji S5000 apparently only takes the max of 512 mb card. I own a newer Fuji S700 and it works fine with a 2 gb SD card, but I haven't tried anything bigger. Your best bet is to see if you can exchange those 2 gig cards for 512 mb cards at the store where you purchased them, and then try the 512's to see if your pc will read the pics. Explain to the store what the problem is and they should allow you to make the exchange.

I can't get to my pictures!

did you buy a memory card along with your camera? I got the camera and they threw in a memory card with it for free. I now know why. My pictures will not always save onto this memory card. i took the memory card out of my old camera and put it in this one, and, the pictures saved. strangely, when i put my new card back in my new camera and took a picture; it saved to it again!
so i believe this could work for you. it sucks. you lose the pictures. but atleast the camera does not have to just be thrown away.

Card Error message

Your card may have become corrupted, there are good free utilities out there to save such files from corrupted memory cards, try DIR (Digital Image Recovery) that you can use with a computer card reader if the computer does not recognize your connected camera as an external hard drive.

If you were able to recover your files, format the card in the camera, that should solve your problem using the card.

If the card cannot be recognized by the computer or formatting the card doesn't help, you may have a defective memory card, try another one.

If the card works otherwise but is still not recognized by the camera you may have a defective memory card connector or other camera motherboard problem, sorry.

Hope this helped...

Memory card error

Try another card. The card can have a life limit, after all it is flash memory.
Also try to use the card in a card reader, not the camera. If that works, and you can save your pics... (remember never try to delete or change any of the pics. on the card from the computer, a lot better chance of corrupting the files...that may be due to the fact that the camera and the computer can be seeing different ways of making folders and reading them...just mention that because I had it happen... always format and delete all pics in only the camera you use that card in.)
If you are successful to transfer your pictures, then format the card in the camera, and see if it will work.
The final on this is that if the card will not format, and will not save pictures, then it is finished. You can try to use it in another kind of camera, sometimes that may work as well.

Memory card error is common problems in various sd cards and cf cards. I took a closer look at my little SD memory card. It has a sliding lock on it to protect data. Check to see if the card works when you slide that lock up or down. Read more about memory card:

Card error and fujifilm s3100 digital camera

If this is the second card to fault this does suggest a camera write/read problem. Contact Fuji tech support with this, there may be an on going issue. Also if the camera is young a 'swap out service may be possible if it out of warranty. If it is a nono dont trash it some on on this list is looking for Fuji Parts http://www.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=223259&thid=148196
