Question about Hotpoint HSS25GFP Side by Side Refrigerator

GE Ice maker water flooding

Our GE ice maker for refrigerator model GSS25JEMA WW is flooding with water. There doesn't seem to be a shut off for the water. Water poured out into the freezer and flooded the kitchen. We turned off the ice maker, and the water stopped. We thought about just replacing the ice maker but can't get the ice maker unplugged! Called GE and they said just pull on it, but we tried and it will not unplug- and we don't see any tabs. Do we need to unhook something from the back of the refrigerator or does the cord simply unplug? Are there other ideas about how to fix this problem? We had no other ice making problems until this catastrophe

the ice maker is in control of the valve, however, the valve is one assembly containing the valve for the water dispenser and the one for the ice maker, take your model to the appliance parts store and get you a water valve assembly for your model number.

I have a GE model TPX 24BPBA WW and have a water leak on my floor. I disconnected the icemaker water feed and leak stopped. What's wrong

do you live in an area where there are rodents such as mice ? if yes there is a possibility that they have eaten the plastic water line that feeds from the ice maker water valve to the ice maker itself . when they get thirsty you would be surprised what they will actually chew through to get water. regardless the cause, you probably have a broken water line between the ice maker water valve and ice maker unit .

I have a GE Refrigerator GSS22JFMD WW with a ice

The water supply in the recessed part of your door is frozen. very common with this model. You will need to turn unit off and with freezer door open use hairdryer on the area where water dispenses and on the recessed area as well. This is time consuming but only other remedy is to leave off and door open for 24 hours. hope this helps.

The problem is most likely the water control valve on the rear of your refrigerator. You can test the ice maker by filling with water and let freeze. If ice dumps then the water valve must be replaced. Your model has 3 different choices of water control valves. If the ice maker does nothing but freeze the water and not cycle or dump the ice then I would say the thermostat inside the ice maker is defective. Thanks, Sea Breeze

The ice maker usually is an easily removable assembly, lift and pull or something like that. It may be the little water line has cracked, plastic don't like being cold.
