Why isn't it trimming the fabric off as it was before?

The blades may not be hitting where they should, ie a gap between the blades allowing the fabric to slip instead of cut. NOTE: according to most serger manuals, one blade can be changed/altered by the user, but the other blade should be done by a technician because it involves timing.

How do you convert the Echo grass trimmer model SRM-22ges to the brush cutting option?

There is a hole just above the grass trimming head that you can slip a screw driver into. Turn the head so that the inner and outer holes align where you can put a screw driver or other hard steel object in. Put it in there and then turn the head counter clock wise until it comes off, it may take a little effort to get it to move, but you should be able to do this with your hands. Once you get the trimmer head off, put the blade on and hopefully you still have the nut and washer accessories to hold the blade in place. You will need to place your screw driver back in the alignment hole to hold the head from spinning while you tighten the blade nut back down. Make sure it is tight, you don't want that blade coming off at ~10,000 rpm!

Hi. It all depends on the Lawn trimmer. What brand is it? You can go back where you purchased the Lawn trimmer and ask them for an attachment blade to use for trimming hedges (did you mean hedges as in edges?). If they have blades specifically for your trimmer then you can do best if you have it attached to the trimmer by them experts. Otherwise if you do it yourself and it's not attached to the trimmer properly, and it comes off while spinning at high speed, you'd better run for your dear life, man! Hedge blades, like the one I have on my trimmer, are subjected to strenuous work and can come lose if not attached properly. The main part is that you treat hedge blades with care when doing the changes yourself. I am not saying that the blade which is similar to a saw blade, could come lose and separate itself from the shaft and fly towards you, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Poorly attached blades do come lose and fly like a flying saucer spinning and whirling in all direction like a yo-yo. Cheers

Trimming with #10 blade seems to work ok but #7 blade will grab the hair and will not cut clean. I've purchase another new #7 blade to see if the blade is the problem but the same result. Any ideas? Thanks...

I have the same clipper and have found that if you comb, wash and dry the hair thoroughly first, it works alot better! Also putting a drop or two of the oil on the outer edges of the clipper. (did you get a dvd with it?)

Blade does not move when turned on

Try spraying the blade assembly with a good rust remover like PB Blaster or even WD 40. Might be something is rusted and won't let blades move. When you are done trimming reapply some oil to displace any water that comes out of whatever you are trimming.
Good luck

I just purchased the Conair GMT182x, and have no idea how to change to the styling blade for trimming my goatee.

Place your index finger, middle finger, and ring finger on top of the blade, and place the thumb under the blade and push the blade up (using the thumb). This will remove the blade

Select the blade you want to use

Put the new blade in back, then push down on the front of the blade, you should hear a snap, and the new blade will be in place.

I have tried everything and it still doesnt trim what am idoing w

if it is pulling instead of trimming, you may need to oil your blades (they're sticking). there should have been a tube of oil in your package. run just a small amount of oil along blades and turn on to let the oil get worked in. do this regularly but don't over oil them, it gets messy.
