Question about Apple M9034LL/A Keyboard

Malfunctioning new aluminum keyboard x 2!

My new aluminum Apple Keyboard ["Apple Keyboard Kit" purchased from Amazon.com, LLC] started to malfunction three weeks after I received it.

I really like the keyboard, so I replaced it with same model. When the new keyboard came it gave no pretence of functioning like it should. It malfunctioned in the same way right from the get-go!: deleting forward-only, no Return key function, insane Arrows function, et cetera... [It malfunctions slightly different in different applications.]

Is it possible the first new aluminum keyboard started malfunctioning after three weeks because my iMac Software Updater came up with an update I agreed to but which caused a problem for the first new keyboard and consequently for the second new keyboard?

In researching this problem, I found suggestions to run the Software Updater. It came up with no keyboard software updates. The next suggestion was to download the latest upgrade manually [Keyboard Software Update 1.2] and install it. I did this. Because nothing changed with the keyboard after the installation, I did a search for Keyboard Software Update 1.2 but only its .dmg on the desktop was found. I then installed it again, same non-results... I don’t think it really installed.

Now what?!?

A really, really non-tech person!

Thank you for your prompt response, Ekse! I will certainly try your
solution but because of a physical disability that requires use of a
power wheelchair, I can not do this myself. It may take at least until
Monday for one of my caregivers to take the keyboard to another
computer. [The first new keyboard has already been returned.] May I
take this amount of time to get back to you? Thank you, again - Carole

The malfunction of the keyboard has nothing to do with teh software, even you dont update the software of it the keyboard should still work fine and this can only be another set of bad keyboards , I realy suggest to you to have this second keyboard relace again, because for the first place it should work fine as soon as you use it no software upadate can cause this problem..

Hope that helps.........

Are you sure its a issue with the keyboard, I would suggest trying these two keyboards on another system to see if they really are at fault.

Thanks,

Ekse

Some of the keys on my keyboard are not working

How long did you have it for? Did you buy it new? on average 3% coming out of manufacturer is malfunctioning. You could have gotten one from that 3%. I recommend you return the keyboard where you got it and before you leave the store with the new one, try it in front of the salesman.

"Shift" key on the left side is malfunctioning is

Hi pupuli08 ,

These are indications before the keyboard get damaged fully , or it's nearing replacement time.

I would suggests you to check if your keyboard is still under the warranty period , if it is , then your best option is to get a replacement , even if it's just about one key.

  1. If it's not under warranty then all you need to do is try opening up the keyboard by opening up the screws behind the keyboard , there are many so you would need some time and patience, then remove the keyboard's circuit and try to clean it of any possible dust with petrol if possible.
  2. Then put the screws back as they were initially and close the keyboard , and check if it works properly now , if it does, then the problem is solved, if it does not then , your best option is to get it replaced or use it till the time it does not malfunction to the extent that you find very difficult to work on it.

Hope this helps ...) Your feedback would be appreciated.

My Wireless keyboard isnt working but the mouse is. I just put in brand new batteries so i know that is not the problem. Help!

Hello!

Check to make sure you resync the keyboard. Some times, when a wireless keyboard or mouse loses signal, you have to press a "Sync" button on the receiver (or device) to restore the connection. Some of the newer mice and keyboards from Logitech resync automatically, it just depends on what brand and model you have.

I hope this helps! If you're still unable to get it to reconnect, you're probably dealing with a malfunctioning keyboard. Check into the warranty!

When i search for new devices on my BT it finds the keyboard then i have to enter a pin wich is shown i just have to re-type it with the wireless keyboard then it says press enter on your wireless...

The attempt here is resolving the malfunctioning keyboard. Wireless keyboards would usually discover the computers signals once the wireless receptable has been connected to the USB port. However, some computers may be incompartible to the keyboards connnected. Ascertain the ketboard compartibility with the computers operating systems. The computer may requir another keyboard altogether if the once being connected is an alternate from original provided with computer.

You need a new keyboard. The keypress decoder inside the keyboard has obviously developed a malfunction. It is NOT repairable. Buy a new keyboard.

Have a gateway m series laptop. The keyboard is malfunctioning.

Sorry to hear about your Gateway problems...

Your keyboard is or has a stuck key or keys.
If the unit gives you an error message or Beeps at start up, this will be the cause.
Maybe, someone had gotten the keyboard wet or dropped something on the key pad ?
Either way, if you are receiving a error message, or seeing type appear on the screen while you are not typing, it the keyboard.
Keyboards are east to come buy for that unit and should be less than $30.00 USD.
" Don't buy a used keyboard "
Good luck, have fun, hope this info has helped you.

My computer stopped recognizing my wireless keyboard & mouse. Says it's missing a driver or that the device is malfunctioning. Don't think it's a battery prob. Do I need a new driver?...

Uninstall the Keyboard driver.
Unplug the Logitech keyboard.
Restart the computer.
Plug the Logitech keyboard back into the computer.
Windows should recognise the keyboard and/or the mouse.
Place Logitech setup disk in drive.
Reload the drivers...

The drivers sometimes corrupt themselves..
You might download the latest drivers for your keyboard/mouse.
