Question about Kenmore Refrigerators

Refrigerator not cooling

My refrigerator was moved from my sunroom to a small cubby in the kitchen. In the process it was tilted back slightly to position it. It runs but does not cool. I turned it off to try and reset it, but that did not work. Did something detach? I took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator.

Whats the size , model number, and year of the fridge?
And i'll try to figure it out!
Dose it have a black grille of tubes running up and down the back that you may have bent in transport??

We sell appliances for 65 years and I recommend this nation wide Factory repair service!

Call A&E Factory Service /They service nation wide
And are available 24/7 for making appointments!

If the appliance is 10 years old or more,it may make sense not to invest any money to fix it!

Moved fridge...runs but now does not cool

Just unplug and let the compressor oil that flowed into the freezer evaporator to flow back to compressor. Unplug and wait 24 hours until trying to restart. Ifyou can not feel or insure compressor is running wait longer. The oil is thick and in liquid state it must seep through a hole about 10 feet and the opening can be as small as a sewing neddle. Let me know if this has been helpful, Thank You Sea Breeze

If the bolt is the hinge pin that the head swivels on when tilting it up, it can be pushed back in when the head latch is released and the mixer head is lifted slightly.

My refrigerator is running differently each day, sometimes like yesterday it cycles every 20 minutes this morning ran for more than three hours and was not cooling the refrigerator at all.Recently I cleaned...

I am not a refrigerator repairman but I do know that most times the oil for the compressor, which runs with the "freon" is stored at the bottom. Moving it from side to side could mess up the oil needed for the compressor. If you do that again, I think you should unplug it and then let it sit idle for a little while for the oil to drain back into the reserve.
Maybe someone else can give you better advice. It might get back to normal but I would go easy on it for a while if it were me.

Door will not stay closed

Try tilting the fridge slightly back, or use a spirit level or plumbob at back, non-curved vertical case of fridge to align.
The base should have adjustable feet for levelling.
If tilting forward, even a fraction, gravity will open it.

Fridge quit cooling after i moved it

did you tilt it when you moved it and then when u got it in place plug it in? if so youve got compressor problems, anytime you tilt a fridge you have to let it set for several hours to allow the oil to get back to the compressor or you ruin the compressor

REfrig and freezer not cooling

These unit must be level to function. Never side to side tilt but it is permissible to have it tilted a little toward the back. This would be the first step.

Freezer and refrigerator run but is not cold

Remove the back panel at the bottom. The refrigeration system is a sealed system and the smell would not come from it internally. Check and make sure the fan motor is running. If the fan motor (was) shorted out it would account for the reseting of the breaker. After resetting the breaker a number of times would cause the circuit in the fan motor to open allowing the compressor to run. Is the small line coming out of the compressor hot? If so replacing the defective fan motor may correct your problem.

Freezer and refrigerator run but is not cold

unit has reached its life expectancy. tilting causes oil to move into the condenser and is damaging in itself, newer units can survive moving, but when you expect both units to recover,i have to recommend replacement

Freezer and refrigerator run but is not cold

Andeb, couple of things you want to check. Is the fan in the freezer section running? Take the lower back panel off and see if the condensor fan is running as well as the compressor. As long as you tilted it only slightly I would think this is a fan or overload relay problem. Check the things I mentioned and post back...Catriver.
