How do I get into small space to change bulb?

  • lexob Aug 29, 2008

Maybe on some Elna's there's a hole on top,but not on the 6003Q.I removed plastic plug on the side....removed screw behind plug.. Wiggled loose plastic cover until it came off giving me access to bulb. lexob

Inappropriate was not the right rating. Sorry! Was upset that the instruction book that came with the machine does not have instructions on how to change the bulb. lexob

Generally on an Elna there's a little hole on the very top of the sewing machine directly above the bulb.
Pushing a long, skinny stick (like a screwdriver,) down into this hole will push the lightbulb and socket assembly down to where you can actually access the bulb without having to try to skvoosh your fingers into the tiny space.

Inappropriate should be reserved for abusive or completely unacceptable/off topic solutions. Please change your rating, since my solution was, in fact, an honest attempt to help you with your problem; and perhaps may help another Elna user with a similar problem.

What light bulb does the morse zig zag 4300 sewing machine take?

The Morse 4300 typically uses a standard 15 watt screw in style sewing bulb. Just like the one shown in the enclosed link. However, due to the age of this machine, it is possible that the light fixture has been changed at some point. If you have a burned out bulb, and it has a screw style base, this one will be right. There is also a push in style used on many aftermarket fixtures. Both styles of bulb are fairly universal though. So it will be one or the other.

Change bulb elna 6003q

removed plastic plug (with a small screw driver,so the plastic plug
does not get damaged) on the side of the face plate
carefully removed screw behind plug--be sure not to strip the screw head
carefully pull or wiggle loose plastic cover until it comes off
giving access to bulb.

I have a Viking 6440 (36 years old), and the original light bulb has burned out. I can't get the bulb out! Any suggestions?

Hi anon3...
Spray a little wd-40 on the socket and tap the outside of the socket...wait about a half an hour and try to unscrew it...if that does not work keep screwing the bulb out until you twist the bulb out of the socket...then take a pair of need nose pliers and grab the edge of the bulb and twist it toward the center do the a few times around the outside of the bulb
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

I bought a new sewing machine light bulb to replace the one that burned out but can't get it ot screw in the socket. Are all sewing machines bulbs universal?

your bulb part number is X53061020 and no the blubs are not universal I would suggest taking the old bulb with you along with the part number I gave you in order to get the right bulb when you go to the store.
