Re: Problem for my recording system
You say you can hear the otherside when online! Is it your microphone which isn't working rather than your speaker?
Go into your control panel- then sounds and audio devices-and click "voice" make sure that the mic is enabled and you can test the hardware here also. you could also use an external headphone and mic combo, your laptop should have ports for you to insert the jack plugs

Let me know if the internal microphone works fine while not on Google chat. Do send me a picture of Sound icon and then I can check and see what can be done.
To access Sound icon you may follow the below steps:
(1)Right click on Speaker icon on the status bar.
(2)Select Recording devices.
(3)Now send me a picture of this screen.
For your model I've checked and there is no onboard microphone, and there is no way you can record your voice or is able to send voice chat unless you have an external microphone, or a external webcam that provide with a microphone in order for you to record or do a voice chat. Now if you cliam that you were able to do a voice chat, and someone was able to hear you or able to record voices.... Then i would only guess that in your sound device, you probraly disabled the microphone it or lowered the microphone volume. You can check this out by going to the little sound icon on your right taskbar, double click it, and on top of the bar, there is a speaker icon, press this and a window would pop up, you would want to go into the "level" tab and see if the microphone option has been muted or lowered. If everything is enabled and working.... I don't know about your mystery since your model spec does specify that there is no onboard mircophone.
double click the volume icon in the system tray next to your clock.
click Options > Properties
make sure that the microphone is ticked then OK
the microphone option is now added to your volume controls make sure it isnt muted and turn it up.
Repeat this for the recording option when in properties.
Hope this helps
have a Dell 1545 with Dell web cam central & I've had this issue.
The problem is that Dell web cam central installs it's own microphone
settings onto your laptop called something like Dell web cam Live!. This
isn't the built in microphone in my laptop & maybe not yours
either. You have to change the settings for your computer system &
Dell web cam central. Go to start> control panel> sound>
recording .. on mine there is an option for Microphone "High Definition
Audio Device" ... that is the built in mic. You want that for your
default & apply it. Also .. as a side note .. I disabled the web cam central Live! microphone completely from this window. Then open Dell web cam central & go to the
"Record Video's" option. In the middle of this is an orange button with a
video camera icon. Next to this on the same button is a little arrow
pointing down .. click that. Under microphone .. choose Microphone "High
Definition Audio Device" just like the sound option in control panel.
I've done this & it's completely fixed. I can record videos with
sound & use my built in mic in voice/video chat.
Its very general problem which is faced by most please do these things when you are on chat with your friend please keep your speakers on mute option. or the other thing is remove your external speakers from you laptop when you are on chat with your friends. its does not affecting your privacy
Hi please check the audio properties settings of your system . The MIC would have been MUTED . Uncheck the mute against mic and you should be able to record thru the built-in mic.Right click on speaker icon in taskbar audio properties under mic uncheck in the box beside mute.
on laptop, ensure the following:
1. go to Volume control (look for icon on system tray).
2. under Options tab select Properties.
3. under Adjust volume for recording option, ensure that microphone is is check-boxed
if no luck, borrow a second amp and connect your L/R jacks (red and white colour) to the borrowed amps line in jacks and test whether you hear anything to confirm your line out capability.
