The player is an FS-G5 consisting of CA-FSG% and SP-FSG5.. The discs are all loaded into player and the player will not eject them or play them.

DVD Player FS-G5 will not play cd`s and also will not eject them. Just says reading disc

I pulled all trays out with tweasers and found that one CD was stuck inside. I turned player upsidedown and shook it and was fortunate to have the CD dislodge and  was able to get it out of player. I reinserted CD`s into all other slots and CD player now works. I am not going to use the #3 slot as this is the one that was stuck. Thanks for the help.

Check the lens and clean if any dust is collected.
or try this.

I had the same error. I took it apart and it turned out (in my case) a couple of trays that had dislodged. Simply put it back in its rightful place (clicks in with a tiny bit of pressure). Now the system is playing fine.

or.
taking it to the repair shop will not not cost you much as they will reset the error by resetting machine they have and make it proper forever or for a longer period of time.it will not cost u too much. because they will not replace any part of the device.
but if the lens is gone totally bad then do not get it repaired because it do not last for long period.it will again show some different error.

pls do rate the solution

thanks.
regards.

Did you try a different DVD and see if it still have the same error, because if it play a different DVD so the problem is with the DISC..but if it still cannot play a different DVD the problem here can be the lens is dirty that needs to be clean , if you have a CD cleaner just run it to clean the lens...

Hope that helps...

If that's the case there's a mechanism problem with the player and that's why it wont even eject the disc,, did you already turn the player off then see if it will eject the disc?? because if it wont still eject the disc you may need to open it and check the mechanism for the eject that may be bad already....

I came across this when I was looking up the error code 162.

My 12 year old was having the same problem, Error Code 162, after 30-40 seconds of trying to read disc. Machine "locked up", hit the "shut off" button and took another 30-40 seconds to reset....usually with a click sound. I fixed it but not sure this method will work for everyone. First, I used another user's suggestion and pulled out all of the trays using a pair of tweezers. Found 2 CDs in their trays and removed both. Kept hearing a "shifting" or slight "clunking" sound when pulling out and/or pushing in the trays. At that point, pushing in tray #1 (bottom tray) became very very difficult. I didn't want to force it so I literally turned the machine upside down, hoping whatever was shifting inside the unit would fall back into place. Well....after several mintues of this, I pulled out tray # 5 only to discover ANOTHER disc that had not made it presence known before. Where was it during all if this?? Your guess is as good as mine. My daughter's reply: "Oh, that's where that other cd went to." Teenagers. I got all the trays to slide in/out very smoothly and tried another disc. No luck. Then I put a cd in tray #2, but pushed the button for tray #1, hoping that if it failed at reading #1, it would try #2. It did and it worked. I then tested playing discs and opening various trays at the same time just to make sure. Everything is working now. I'm going out today and purchase a lense cleaner, just in case. One final note: The "delay" from when I pressed the "stand by" button has also disappeared and now immediately goes into Stand By when the button is pushed Good luck.

SOURCE: DVD Player stops reading disc Error message :

usually this happens when lens cannot read the the disc. Due to few reason 1 Your disk is scratched 2 Your DVD lens is covered with dust 3 You need to replace DVD lens
Try another few CD/DVD to rectify whether there is any problem with dvd you are trying to play
if this error occurs on all the dvd you played then the most likely proble is with your DVD lens either its coverd with dust use Disk cleaner if not you got to replace a new DVD lense as per model

It's something about the Burlesque dvd. I have the same problem with mine when I try and play it on my Sony blue-ray player. It's the only disc I have that it won't play. Disc is a DVD Video disc but it will no't play in the Sony player. It plays fine on other dvd players and my computer, but not on the Sony.

Won't play dvd's

Try buying a Laser Lens Cleaner Disc from Wal-Mart, FYE music store, or any other place that might sell DVD players. Your Laser Lens that reads the DVD'S is full of dust. Try using the laser lens cleaner disc i mentioned to clean the laser lens.

DVV Player won't play disc

Check to make sure your player can play other disks. If so then use the disk doctor to remove the scratches on your favorite disk. The area that all DVD players scan before playing a disk is probably smudged or scratched.

Disc Error when I try to play a dvd LG DP781

Hi,

Sounds like either a dirty or weak laser/lens. Pls try cleaning with a CD disc cleaner or manually using cotton buds (if the eye is accessible).

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
