More RAM would help. Running Vista on 2GB of RAM is not good for gaming.
Also you could try to close all unnecessary programs. pretty much everything except your antivirus program can be closed by right-clicking on its icon (in the taskbar next to the clock) and selecting "exit" or "close"
That will free up more RAM, leaving it available for the games to use.

My Problem is that when I run performance rating in windows 7 it freezes somewhere in "D3D9 Batch Assessment" and I think the problem is the Graphics Card, because when I try to remove it, it can...

Heat could be the factor that is troubling your graphics card or it could be old/bad drivers.

What you want to do is to clean your computer system of all dust. Clean the fans and the heatsinks to ensure greater airflow through the system.

Then see my guide for installing the latest video drivers for your graphics card. It is entitled How to install Graphics Drivers, Nvidia and AMD Radeon!!! Also scan your computer's hard drive for viruses and mal-ware.

Take care!

Cant play any games on pc as 3d grafics are not reconised

Your video card/graphics accelerator is not compatible or setup right. (meaning ,drivers need updating)
We need to open up Direct X diagnostic tool. Use 1 of 2 ways to open it
1 . Go to Start menu. If you have the "RUN" command click on it. type DXDIAG enter
If you dont see the run command then
Without knowing what operating system you have, do this instead. Open up a command prompt.
GO TO: Start, / programs or all programs/ accessories / command prompt , double click.
type in "DXDIAG", enter.
On the System tab it will tell you how much video memory you have as well as the Direct X version.
The system memory and DX version must meet the game requirements.
Click on the Display tab. You will see accelerations in 3 categories. They must all be enabled.
If all or any are disabled the graphics cards driver needs to be updated to the most recent.
Check your games minimum system requirements
without knowing any of your systems specs I cant tell you if it is satisfactory

You can purchase a copy of XP and install it, but it may void your warranty with the manufacturer. You can also try running programs in Vista using XP compatibility mode (right click on the program and select properties and then select the compatibility tab). There is also a great site for tuning Vista performance www.vistax64.com

Trying to find out how to allocate more ram to the graphics(currently only 8mb when i was told it could be up to 358, on my acer aspire 5920 5a2g16mi.

u can not change it ! but u don;t need to ! the video card will take the amount needed ! (if u don;t use any video application will take the minimum amount(8MB), when u start playing a game for example will increase the memory until it satisfies the needs, but not more than 358MB...)

Oh I see. It might be a game problem. Do you have any other games installed on your laptop? How about try to play a different game and check if you can see Menus. Another possibility is that the game requires a high end type video card (high video memory). Since your laptop uses built-in video card, the game wont run as it should due to system requirement failure.

the acer aspire's onboard video doesn't have 3D excelleration, and i'm almost sure that they don't support pci express video either, but, i might be wrong, go into your local computer parts supplier, let them know what you have and they will let you know

Hi 2208,

I have done some research and comparison and it seems that your video card IS indeed underpowered to run Call of Duty 4.
The GMA X3100 is a good card, but it restriction is in the fact that because it is an onboard video card, it shares RAM with Windows.

If it had its own dedicated RAM, it would most likely run the game quite well.

Good Luck.
