Question about Computers & Internet
I have problem with login in my Dell laptop with windows Vista. The problem is when i log in , then walk way, it'll lock up by itself. That's normal. The problem is when i enter my user ID and password, then hit enter or click the arrow to log in, it won't do anything. I had to hold the power button to shut it down then log back in then it worked. Please help, thank you very much, any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.
Go into the power settings and disable the password prompt when resuming from standby. If you want it to prompt for the password then restart the machine and enable it. This should clear up the glitch. If it doesn't, then you can try either a system restore or a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the restore doesn't fix it, the repair definitely will.

I'm assuming that the operating system is XP.
Log in to your account as you usually would. Right click on My Computer and select Properties from the list. Click on the Computer Name tab. Where it says "To rename this computer or join a domain" click on change. A new window will pop up so click on Workgroup. In the typing plane if it say's MSHOME, delete that and type WORKGROUP make sure you type it in uppercase (capital letters).
When you've done that click OK.
The computer will tell you that you have to restart the computer for the changes to take effect so please restart the computer.
Once the computer has restarted you can check if the domain has changed to WORKGROUP.
Please post back if you need anymore help.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
