My mom has an HP Laserjet 1022 printer and I am trying to get it added to my computer. What do I need to do to install it? Thank you

As the Laserjet 1020 not officially supported by the OS, you will need to download and install the HP Printer Drivers 2.11 package which include the Laserjet 1022 drivers, those should allow you printing using your device.

Install the package by following the Download below:

After completing the installation go to System Preferences ' Print & Scan and click the Plus sign,
Select the listed printer and click the Print Using drop-down.
Click Select Printer Software and then select the Laserjet 1022 which should be available now.
Complete adding the printer and try printing now.

Make sure you installed HP toner cartridge for your printer. and Insert is correctly into the printer. Try to use the old toner cartridge and check if this is the problem.

Just replace new toner cartridge and i might solve your problem. Regards

Make sure the cable from your printer is properly connected to the CPU
Make sure it is well recognized.
On start menu, click printer and faxes..
you will see your printer model.(if you said its offline then the image of your printer is blurred...right?)
Now right click on the printer model.. and click the "Use Printer Online"
After that you will see that the image of your printer is clear with the word "ready"
Try to print again.

download the software on hp.com type the printer version and the model

on printer properties try to set on sharing tab check marks on : share this printer- render print jobs on client computers- list in the directory ..( all of this must be chacked).. on port tab see on what port is printer ..(tcp/ip - or virtual), on advance tab.. check alway available, spool print documents first., under security see if you have set group permission.. if you did not ,, add the computers to use this printer ( in most cases this is the problem).... if all of the above s set , and you can still not able to print .. enter in run...services.msc... find print spooler and restart it .. then try to print.

go to the printers folder, click add printer then ok and let the machine search for plug and play printers, you may need the installation disk for the printer. you also can go to add hardware in the control panel and use the manual install printer.add new hardware, select printer.select manually install printer and select it from the dropdown menu. if you are lucky it will be in the list
